Sorry everyone seems to be down just now.

I visited my GP today to get a prescription fixed (idiot doctor ordered the wrong thing - it's a good thing the pharmacist knows me so well) and broached the subject of NHS infertility treatment to be told I can't have it because I'm not infertile and they don't fund IVF for people who don't want to lose their shape when they have a baby. I'm only a size 6 because I'm doped up to my eye balls!

So angry, OH said we should leave it but it's just so unfair. I'm definitely changing doctors surgery after today.

Glaswejen I'm so angry on your behalf. This is not on. I would be puttin in a formal complaint if I were you as well as changing doctors, someone supportive and understandings what you need and you're not getting this at your current GPs.

First thing I see when I look on that thread - photo of a BFP = never going on there again! X

We have permanent visas (for 2 years ) and will move to Melbourne. We hope to be there by June as well (as long as the house sells...)
I remember cetrotide... and trying to prepare it in the disabled loo at work as had no time to do so before leaving for work each morning :D.

We are off to Sydney. It's my hometown and I want to get back to family after 8 years here - although I am totally in Love with London. But I'm actually starting to look forward to it now. The endless rain is getting a tad tedious!

However, I am worried if that saying this may come across to the FS that we are not serious about TTC, but I just think that I would like to try another couple of cycles naturally, as really this is like our first cycle trying as unbeknown to us, all previous attempts over the past 12/18 have been fruitless due to the high prolactin. I know how gruelling IVF can be and we are able to avoid it I would prefer to...

I almost can't believe I am considering this, as when I first had my FS apt in July 2013 I wanted to come out of that office with a IVF referral there and then!!!!
Good to see you Danielley, and glad things are a bit calmer. You sound a little happier in yourself too.

I wouldn't tell the FS you want to wait, appointments for IVF take an age anyway, so sound keen and just let it go forward. If the appointment comes up earlier just call and re-book. My NHS appointment was kicked down the road for almost 3 months while I was to-ing and fro-ing with my last private IVF cycle. I would tend to think that if you aren't keen/pushy they may happily keep you off the waiting list.

AFM, not a lot going on. Stabbing myself twice a day, and have first scan tomorrow. Hope things are on the move in there, this first scan is always quite stressful. 9.30 appointment tomorrow.

I'm bricking it about telling work that I need more medical time off. I need to go on Friday for an annoying 10.30 appointment, which means I miss basically a half day. Then next week for EC and ET will really need to be discussed... My boss has been great, but he will eventually lose patience with me!

I never really go on there now - but thanks to this conversation I've found myself a new friend there! Someone who has had the same operation as me.

I'll probably post a bit there now, will freak out the newbies... ;)
  • Hiya - Quick question all....

I have had day 21 bloods, all okay. DH has been for his SA today (poor chap!) so waiting to hear back from that... have a horrid niggly feeling that he is the "problem" and its going to come back as low or worse

BUT, assuming it doesn't and all is as it should be,... what next?!

As I already have a son, we know obviously there won't be any funding - but is what we have had done as far as investigations on the NHS go?? I appear to OV, so are there any other things it could be preventing pregnancy (assuming its NOT poor spermies!) and will they do any tests etc to find out anything else?

Everyone on here appears to see FS - how did that happen? Or is that not going to happen as they are only for people who will be entitled to funding??
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
