Totally depends on the hospital. Some places have waiting lists, some don't. Also depends on whereabouts you are in your cycle and whether you're long or short protocol.
ETA: we had treatment over Easter last year and it was great- the nightmare hospital car park was practically empty lol. EC was on Easter monday... am hoping the next cycle also makes use of bank holidays0 -

Before we found out about DH's sperm issues, I actually wondered if I wasn't getting pregnant because my future children didnt like the names I'd picked out. :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I'm hoping my surrogacy cycle works because then I can keep my body shape and not get any stretch marks and still get our own baby.
Best I can come up with today ladies!2 angels in heaven :A0 -

Ha! I've wondered in the past if our children were waiting for us to get married :rotfl:.0 -
Hi all,
Hi love, my first appointment was a chat and then another load of blood tests that GP and local FS didn't do. OH booked in for another SA next week which is being sent for a more in depth testing.
Hoping to hear more next appointment in 2 weeks. Then maybe a start date.
Have been saving my leave all year. Had 2 weeks off in march and another that I will carry over. Found out am allowed 5 days off for first IVF treatment.
The whole Treatment process is about 2 months tho from my reading. Is that right?0 -
Hi all
I have my blood test today at the nuffeild - first time been there. On all the waiting room walls there are loads and loads of photos of IVF new borns...!
The nurse was really nice and said on NHS results mine were fine so if these come back ok too then it would most likely be long protocal but consultant would of course confirm next Thurs.
I asked about nasel spray instead of injections and she says that in their view the injections are best as if you have a "cold" over the treatment period this may alter the results etc plus you need injections for stage two anyway so don't avoid needles.

Hi all,
Slightly deflating appointment today. Only 4 follicles, although 2 are already around 15mm. I've gone from 11 to 8 to 4 in these three IVF cycles. Maybe you get less response each time. It's early days so more may appear, but in my experience the ones you have get bigger, but new ones don't tend to appear later in the cycle.
Quality not quantity I know!
Lisawood, how is the surrogacy going?0 -
I sometimes wondered if our babies were waiting until we finished the house. Almost done now and still no baby
Silly confession from me - I am seeing a herbalist and taking herbs. My acupuncturist recommended it. I'm not really convinced about it, and feel its a step too far (and pricey) but still I had over my cash and force a rank tasting mixture down my throat twice a day.
Love - at your appointment they will probably take blood from you both to test for HIV etc, etc and probably a vaginal swab from you. They will also give you lots of forms to fill out. I think that once all these come back ok they contact you and tell you your protocol and to call on CD1 of your next cycle. So if they call you on CD 25, great, if they call you on CD3, then you will probably have to wait until the next cycle.
Star - the nasal spray is horrible, much better to go for one injection! You will need the nasal spray later on anyway if its long protocol.
We are two and a bit years trying. I know this is not as long as others but it hurts none the less. I keep consoling myself that hopefully 2014 is the year we find out how we will get our family, our own kids or adoption.
Fairy - when do you start DR? I've to get my prostap injection on 13th.
hugs ladies xx0 -
Hi all, sorry I haven't posted much but life is getting in the way of anything else at the mo! It sounds like so many of you are progressing along their journeys and I'm stuck still waiting for a blinking clomid appointment. 2 years of ttc anniversary too, which SUCKS.
I agave every part of my body crossed for those of you in/starting your ivf journeys at the moment, I really hope 2014 is the year for all of us!!!0 -
Hi everyone
SewIt - I'm on the short protocol so not DRing but I start my Norethisterone (a bit like the Pill) on 18 January and take my last one on the 26 January. The last time I stopped the Norethisterone was on a Sunday, I bled on the Thursday which was the day when I started my injections. What is the prostap for? Is that for DR?
T2D - There is still time for the smaller ones to get bigger but as you say, quality over quantity. My friend (on her successful cycle) had 4, and only had 2 eggs which both fertilised & she got her son so try not to get to disheartened (easier said than done I know).
Hugs to everyone that needs them xx52 Week Challenge £15/£13780
