Today's stupid freak-out moment..... was just reading a thread about c-sections (no, I have no idea why either) and the comments about codeine not being good for breastfeeding. It really upset me as to be completely honest, I am totally addicted to prescription-strength co-codamol. I've taken it everday for about 8 years and I know there's no way I could stop.

So now I feel like a bad mother for putting drugs before breastfeeding.... despite the rather obvious point that I don't actually have anyone to breastfeed. Gah, don't you just love self-inflicted OTT guilt-trips??!

Not good news today. Eight eggs but they still can't access my womb and have cancelled the cycle. If the eggs fertilize they will be frozen.

She basically said it will never work, and to look at surrogacy. Devastated. I really thought out would work. I just want to pack up and go to Australia. Like tomorrow.

Dont beat yourself up too soon tea. There are lots of self appointed experts on here about all matters relating to breastfeeding and birth  I had two c sections both under the care of one of the top obstetricians in the country, both times I breastfed and it was known in advance I was going to be breastfeeding, and both times the pain relief of choice was co-codamol. As I had my children privately, I was under the care of a consultant anaesthetist and the baby was checked daily by a consultant paediatrician and none of the three professionals suggested in any way that co-codamol should not be taken when breastfeeding, nor did any of the community midwives after I was discharged. From which I deduce that the earth mother nazis are pontificating again on that thread.

Besides which if you are in the least concerned, you have time to investigate whether there are other pain relief options which would be better in pregnancy and after the birth, and start to make the switch over gradually before your next IVF attempt

Oh T2D, how pooey :( So did they collect eggs, but they don't think they could gain access to put embryos back? Apologies if I've totally misunderstood that. 8 eggs is a great result, maybe just focus on getting some (or all!) of them fertilised and then think about your next steps.

I take it there's only one way of getting them in there then? I know there's different options with EC isn't there? Presumably surrogacy isn't something you've thought about so far but don't write it off sweetie. It could be a great answer - your own embryos, just cooked elsewhere! But obviously I appreciate this is the last thing you want to be thinking about right now.

Get those feet up, have a good cry if you need to and remember we're all thinking about you. Take care xx.

Nicki - thank you :) I can't believe I'm fretting about breastfeeding an imaginary baby!

    :(

Have you used the same FS throughout time2deal? Some surgeons and Gynaes are better at difficult procedures than others. Would it be worth getting a second opinion, or having someone else try a FET, so you know you have explored all the options?

I've got the leading professor in this surgery (possibly in the world) as my oncologist, and the director of the Lister Clinic as the FS working together on my case. I will look at another opinion, but these people are the best.

They may be able to find a way to transfer the embryo (via needle through the abdomen), but it's more risky, and the more they mess about, the lower the chances of it working due to every increasing scar tissue. She said surrogacy is a real consideration now.

I will get back in touch with the professor today. If the cervical canal is really blocked (as it looks) then I have a bigger problem and will need another surgery - or menstral blood will completely back up inside me (nice).

    I'm out of chocolate.
