Hi code, I'm in Scotland too so will tell you what happened with me. GP referred me to FS which was not at the IVF clinic. They ran through my history and had our test results already. They weighed me and took my height to calculate my BMI at this first appointment. FS then sent me for a pelvic ultrasound, which took about 2 months to wait for. Then about 2 months later I was sent for scan to test if tubes open (can't remember what it is called). Then had another app with FS and then was put on IVF waiting list which was about 6 months after first meeting with FS so you should have time to lose weight. Once you reach top of list you get your cycles as close together was you want. I was also told that an NHS cycle also includes as many FET transfers as you have, so it's two fresh cycles if that makes sense. (Sorry for the essay!)

Good luck for ec tomorrow T2D!

RG - big big hugs and kisses for tomorrow. Keep us posted xx

Hugs everyone else, sounds like a sh*t time for lots of us at the moment. Xxxx

Now I'm finished being self-indulgent, thanks SewIt. It's good to know I have 6 months and that someone else knows the Scottish system.

Sounds like tomorrow is due to be an exciting day. I'm hoping for the best outcomes for you Rowin, and you too , t2d.

PM - I'm so sorry about your cycle. It doesn't seem fair that one of your goes is wasted because the FS is going on holiday. Glad your mum is still ok.

I'm so glad I have you ladies as a support network. You're all what's keeping me going through this process, sad as it seems, and I hope so much that we all get what we want, and soon.

Good luck today T2D.. I'm thinking of you. Have gone quiet because not at work lol! Sadly no snow baby but makes me all the more grateful for the one I have on board. OTD isn't until 2nd December, but if it hasnt worked I'll know plenty before then...it'll be 15 dp3dt!

    Thinking of you today RG.
  • Hi everyone just been reading back.

Partmouse - hope your bleeding stops and your mum gets better. I can't believe your clinic will call his one of your goes just because the FS is going on leave. Seems unfair to me.

Vesper - hope your hubby's SA results come back good :)

Tea - hope your appointment with the FS goes well and OH is behaving himself.

Time2Deal - how exciting finishing your last shot. Must be an exciting time knowing you are actually moving forwards and not just waiting for the FS to do something. Your experience of directing whilst in the car is exactly the same as mine!

RG - thinking of you and hope you get the result you are looking for.

Skint - thats great news all your results are good but I guess at the same time its frustrating :(

Derby - am crossing everything for you.

sorry if I've missed anyone - am trying to reply whilst at work and keep closing the browser when someone walks in!

Well afm, I had EWCM on saturday which is a first and then on monday I had pains on the left hand side which could i guess be ov pain. Never ever had that before but the days would all work out right I suppose. Monday was CD15/16 and I have a 30 day cycle.

So we DTD on Saturday night, monday night, last night and will do friday night just for luck!

So I guess AF is due on 03/04 December......

    xx

I've come to the conclusion that I don't understand BMI anyway. What happens if you are short but incredibly muscly. Sure that would mean you weigh more and your BMI would be higher. Seems like a very flawed idea.
I mean I know I'm overweight but it's not like I'm a super blob. I eat healthily. I swim once a week and do 2 dance sessions a week, so I'm not sat on my back side all the time scoffing my face. I seem to have reached a plato with losing weight at the moment. Boo.

Don't worry code I can't see them turning you away at the first hurdle just for the sake of 7 or so pounds. Just explain you are actively losing weight.

I told my friends last night of the current step of our journey. Was so nice that one of our friends was so supportive and actually asked questions. She is pregnant with her 2nd child, and she asked us loads of questions.
Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.

vesper - bmi does seem a bit arbitrary at times. Tbh I DO sit on my backside and stuff my face all the time but technically my bmi is fine. Which is totally more luck than anything else! I guess it's useful as a broad tool but I think often people forget to use common sense as well (eg. athletes often have high bmi, but they're certainly healthier than I am). If people are really close the cut-off points let's hope the drs are using a bit of sense and not being too strict about it.

Did kind of sort things last night (but sadly no chips in the end, was gutted!) We spoke, watched a bit of TV, sorted out what time we need to leave for this afternoon's appt, then I went to bed... and he still went and slept in the spare room! Oh well, more room for me and the cat!
  • BMI is a peculiar thing. I am just over 5' 3" and weigh under 8 stone. BMI says I am 19 which is right on the cusp of being underweight. I eat healthily and exercise (not too excess).

We are all different and a "one graph fits all" doesnt work in my opinion.
