New o2 Tariffs Coming Soon

No news on o2 joining with t-mobile, they have their own higher speed 3g network coming soon so very very doubtful. As another poster has pointed out if you constantly want 'more more more' for not a lot of money then yes the network probably will let you go. There's more than enough to go around. And by 'on top' I mean statistically through customer numbers, mystery shops, value for money and the like. Every network will be offering 24 month contracts, o2 were one of the last to offer the 18 month tariffs, so its only a matter of time as has already been pointed out. The briefing I had yesterday said that data charges were likely to be changed by September, but that this was being pushed as a high priority to get it changed to time based rather than quantity based to even out the pricing and make it easier to understand and access. Data deals are likely to be offered in the same way as long weekends.

used to work for 3 years back and they were also always gong on about stuff like the lowest churn rate or % high value customers. frankly i never paid any attention cause i new those sorts of people will always try to put the best spin on anything and will lie to your face if needed.
anyway, why dont any of the networks offer a cheep monthly rate like ntls £10 a month 300text 300min plan, i mean theres got to be a massive market of people who dont want to fill in discont vouchers and all that noncence but just get a normal phone every year and pay a low bill0 -
Flext is a really good tariff and their data charges are fantastic compared to o2. But then again, t-mobiles network service is quite bad at times, in certain areas.
Just to add, o2's data charges will be changing to time based rather than quantity based.
whats that then gprs @ dial up speed lolSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

V dont have masts - you need a mobile licence for that, V buy airtime off T-mobJAYMARSH2005 wrote: »I really cant see that happening, T-Mobile already have virgin as a mast sharing source, but if O2 want to hit the 3g market then they should be able to do it on there own.
Stace thanks for the updates, will be too late for me even P Erskines executive team dont get back to me " *hell* call you back Mr Diamonds" so manty times, im going to Ofcom & Otelo and with thier rulings im going to court - no one fooks with........ diamonds ( forever n ever n ever and evvvveeeevrrrrrr ) eh Shirley
2 years of errors, billing probs and 8/10 misfit customer reps
" oh no Mr Diamonique you cant have your upgrade backdated ", "its Mr Diamonds, thats not fair your staffs error stopped me upgrading for almost 6 months ", " yes we accept it was our error and it has been corrected but you will not have your upgrade backdated nor will you be compensated, which online deal would you upgrade to ? "
and that was after 20 months of pathetic !!!!!!
oh did I mention breach of Data Protection Act - the unauthorised use of my personal details to do a unauthorised credit check for payg ? And then setting me up another sim contract on my account ? which resulted in o2's error of my main account being completely closed down and charged the 6 months I was out of contract for ? all the while I had a full signal while roaming ( resulting me to not know my FIL died till months later ) but callers were told number not avail, should I go on ?
god I could go on & on & on & AristonSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

Had a briefing today with the top guy at o2, looking at the statistics from all of the networks, o2 is still on top by a long way...
Yeah right, that's why o2 have just tried to rip-off a lone parent by doubling her monthly line rental having secretly sold her a higher tariff last year under the guise it was a lower one (thanks to the secret "discount" on the new higher tariff that actually includes less for the price than the old one did) doubling the price this year after her 14 day cancelation period had lapsed.
Will I be seeing your "top guy" in court or do you usually send lackies to deal with ripped-off customers who have cancelled their direct debits and refused to pay out £330 they don't have?
When this matter is dealt with I will never deal with o2 again and rest assured I will put off as many people as I possibly can from dealing with you.
You're supposed to be selling people things they need and things they want within their individual price ranges and specifications; not making millions of people miserable and firmly shoving them into debt. That's not business it's malevolent greed. o2 executives are a prime example of why the rich/poor divide keeps widening and I only hope there really is a heaven and a hell afterall.0 -
So 400 minutes and 1000 texts for £30 is not good?
Now hang on a minute, why are they trying to charge me £30 for just 200 minutes and 50 texts?
Not that I even want that but it isn't the point. I used to pay £17.99pm for 500 texts and 50 anytime minutes so bill was c£25pm for that year. Then I wanted to leave as I became a lone parent on benefits and requested a PAC and was told I could change to the lower online200 tariff with 200 off-peak minutes and just 50 texts for £15 a month. I remember the conversation quite clearly having been thinking on this all day being so upset about it all and he quite clearly assessed my call and text useage and offered me this new tariff as the best deal for me so I would stay.
Then this year all of a sudden it's "oh no, the online 200 plan costs a lot more than the (much better) online 50 plan did and you HAVE to pay us £30 a month for calls and texts you don't even use as per the contract which you are now a few days too late to get out of unless you pay us £330".
I am just so angry. I have NO money. I am about to actually stoop just below the poverty line on returning to work next week. And you are trying to fleece me like this? Whilst letting customers who can probably afford it get over twice as much for their money as you allow someone who can't?
I only stayed with o2 at both renewals to get the choice of either £100 credit (another scam - what's this about VAT disappearing off it?) or a new phone (mine is just about limping into year three now but they do need replacing every year or two IME). For the amount I use my phone I'd be better off buying an old PAYG off ebay but I fell for o2 sales tactics hook line and sinker didn't I?
I feel a right mug, been well and truly ripped off haven't I? If I could swear here I would. I'd say don't take it personally Stacy21 if I hadn't cottoned onto the fact you're obviously pretty high up in the o2 ranks. In which case, please take it personally and consider what that £15 per month you're taking home in your pay packet is denying my 21m old toddler of. I'm ashamed to say I can't afford to replace his torn trainers until next week and have had to put two pairs of socks on him everyday in case it rains.
I wouldn't be so upset if I thought you were offering fair and clear prices across the board but quite clearly o2 are one big scam after as much money as they can get their hands on. It's just pure greed.0 -
hi Stacey, thanks for all the info. Please keep us up to date on a release date for the new tariffs and any other info you may have on data charges. Want to upgrade as already on O2....to the new SE P1i, but at present the data add ons are not that cheap compared to others.
keep up the good work.0 -
A quick search and found that O2 offers £100 if you do not take a new phone...
Orange gives you £100 credit AND a free phone and even free broadband if you go for 18month/£35+ tariffs.
Last year o2 Ret.Dept gave me a 12 month/£30 tariff, with a new phone AND £120 credit.
Lets see what they come up with when I call them...
Was actually due to call/renew today but reading Stacey's comments I think I will wait for a bit...0 -
Elle83, with regards to your comments I do take it personally as I don't like to see someone unhappy with any service and want to try sort it out if I can help in any way?
Any discounted tariffs are only available for a certain amount of time, usually 12 months and perhaps 18 if you are on the longer contract, once that contract expires so does the discount, therefore it would seem that the line rental had 'doubled'. For your bill to be £330 it would seem that it had rolled over a few months and not been paid?
Probably not best to discuss it in a forum but if you want you can pm me with your number and ill have a look for you.:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0 -

Please do not imply I have not paid my bill. They want £330 to end the contract as it only month one after renewal. I was never told I was receiving a discounted tariff, I was told I was being moved to a lower tariff because I wasn't using my phone as much and couldn't afford to continue the old tariff.0
