Asda aside there has been plenty of friends/text misunderstandings/friends seemingly letting the poster down/misunderstanding social situations that would point to repetitiveness and a real need to seek help to improve, alter the posters view which would in turn enhance her life and make her much happier, to be in a positive frame of mind sometimes takes hard work, determination, a will to change and improve which will make everything not seem so bad and the 'clashes with people' the poster has will stop... a win, win scenario:D

THe poster has been helped a lot, suggested a lot, I have posted plenty of links, suggested maybe Aspergers, confidence courses, CBT, trying to point out that not every person out there has a hidden agenda, is not necessarily mean spirited and out to get the poster, over the course of time and threads one would hope because many people are going along the same lines the poster could maybe see a pattern of her behaviour and talk to a counsellor or her GP or a family friend and aim to change...

Be careful of going down this assessment route victory.

The trouble with posting here is that people only ever see a snapshot, they see the bad things because it's human nature to rant. They don't see the other things that balance it all out.

I have no idea about any issues the OP may or may not have, but given that none of us are psychologists nor do we know the OP personally, it's really rather foolish to be suggesting the OP may be X,Y or Z and what he or she should do about it.

Especially when that 'advice' is unasked for.

As in my threads or any other threads where the same 'theme' crops up, a link is drawn and posters do keep trying, knowing that your advise is being ignored for a thousand and one reasons can be furstrating, obviously see the name don't post in the thread as many do in mine or others, but as a positive person one believes in change and hope and wishes for a thread from the poster full of positive vibes and changes galore so they can improve their beautiful lives and suffer less, that's all.:D

If it makes you feel any better, about 6 years ago I got so p!ssed I drew £300 out of a cashpoint and still, to this day, have no idea where it went!! I don't even know why I would've needed that amount of cash. I know I drew it out as I found a receipt in my bag the next morning but can't remember doing it. I could've been angry but I was far more embarrassed at the state I had got myself into and I should've been more careful (since that night I no longer take my bank card out with me)

The OP hasnt said at all that they plan to intimidate anyone.

Please, we can all disagree but theres no need to say stuff like that to someone who is already clearly upset.

I did not say they would I said they could, there is a difference!

Really feel for you. It's horrible being skint and losing anything when every penny counts is very hard.

My hubby has done this before and to be honest, calling the police and looking to prosecute the person who took it didn't even enter our thoughts. It was his fault leaving the cash behind in the same way if he'd dropped it on the street.

I think I'm in the minority here but this wasn't and wouldn't be the route we'd have taken. If we're talking like £200, then maybe we'd have thought differently, but in this case, it doesn't seem that we are. And before I get shot down about it doesn't matter how much it is, it honestly does. As I've said I'm sharing a simliar experience and exactly what we did when it happened to us.......

Perhaps the advice is being ignored because it's wrong or just doesn't fit?

It's a little self serving to assume you *know* what the problem is when the reality is you know only what the OP posts at that moment. A moment that can be when emotions are raised. It doesn't mean the OP necessarily goes through life as a wreck.

I understand the intent, people mean well. But they really shouldn't post as if they speak with any kind of knowing. A snapshot on MSE means nothing.

  • Shit happens.

All you can do is pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get on with it. Wallowing in misery, anger or tying yourself up in knots over a million and one things doesn't help anybody - least of all you.

  • On the subject of self scan checkouts. I do use them yes and I do get cash back from them.

Recently though, the checkouts have changed at my local Asda, they used to beep incessantly until you took your notes from the dispenser and even the weighing scales used to detect your shopping was still there and the next person couldn't use the checkout until the "please take your items" message had cleared.

Now though, your cash just pops out the bottom without a mention, so it is easy to forget and walk away without it and it is easy to get distracted as the machines are so close together.

I don't think trying to get redress from Asda is going to get you anywhere though. It's just very unfortunate for you that the person behind you was a dishonest little s h i t e!
