Would it be rude...

I would think as long as you don't plan anything for the same month or venue as them it would be fine.0

I've been engaged 11 years and we keep saying we will start booking things next year but it never happens, always something comes up, you do what's right for you I definately don't think it'd be rude for you to get married before them and don't think you'd be stealing anyone's thunder x***** on the road to debt freedom *****

My father and law in his partner have been engaged about this long. Every year it's, "We're definitely getting married next year in X month", then X month comes around, "We needed to do the kitchen", etc. They talk emphatically about the plans and constantly trying to pin it down, but they never get around to it. It's a bit of a running joke really and we all have a laugh about it. Their relationship is rock solid and so it doesn't mean much to them, just an excuse to have a party I think! Each to their own!0 -
I wish people would take their marriages as seriously as they take the weddings!0

:D
You are either engaged or you aren't. If you are going to marry someone then you are engaged.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

the only thing I would say, is don't suddenly announce you're engaged straight after your BF's brother............ (speaks the voice of experience) My Brother did that a week after I got engaged in a 'oh, me and (now very ex wife) have been engaged for months' type of way.
Me and my 2 brothers were actually all married in the same year, and it wasn't an issue, in fact it was rather nice

Oh yeah, no we wouldn't do that! I completely get what you're saying. That sounds lovely!0 -

I'm not engaged, I'm in a relationship with a view to engagement and then marriage... Like many others in relationships!0 -

Have they made wills? If not, they might regret not getting married if one of them dies.0 -
