Its quite normal for a lot of us, you should see the waiting to get engaged thread :rotfl:0 -

Sounds like you're already engaged then, if you've both agreed that you're going to get married.0 -

Stay sober, don't puke on the grooms mother.
Dance.
Leave when the lights go on.0 -

No ring so no! I thought it was quite normal to discuss with your partner, otherwise you might want completely different things and not know?0 -

You can be engaged without a ring! :rotfl:
Being engaged just means you've agreed to marry each other in the future. So congratulations.0 -

Definitely don't worry about them- you can't live your life waiting for other people. What if they never got round to getting married?
If it makes you feel any better, two of my husbands friends met 10 years ago, and got engaged 8 years ago- they have set their date for Feb 2014. In the space of their engagment my husband and I met, got engaged, got married (and hopefully will have a bump on the way)0 -
We were in a similar situation. My brother got engaged, no date set. then we got engaged, thinking about getting hitched the following year. My mum then said my bro and his fianc!e were thinking of next year.
As it was only January and I do like winter weddings, we got cracking and got married that November. My brother got married the following August. No thunder stolen, no toes trodden on.0 -
Glad it worked so well in your family!0
