sile001 - Im with you here, I took my policy out over 10 years ago, i dont keep bank statements and i have no idea which month the policy collected, so id need to get a years worth of statements then another 1 for each year which could end up costing over £100. Arent the banks obligated to store this info and give it you if you request it? Thats a question btw, not a statement. The template letter which MSE supplies expects you to send all previous bank statements to back up your claim, so Im also stuck on what to do????? Please someone help.0

Hi all
This is my first post and a big ask for help please.
I have had a CPP policy since 1989 and only the other day cancelled my policy at the end of the term which is the 28/11/2013. I read on here about the reclaim for mis-selling and contacted the company who passed me on to ? claims handler who informed me I was not eligible on this scheme and he would send me a letter as to why but basically my bank was not part of the reclaim scheme. I asked who the original bank was and he told me ( I think by accident ) "CPP medical insurance agency" then said he could give me no more information and would send a letter as to why.
Can anyone advise me where I go from here??

Can I just ask, I have been sent two CPP letters today with two different policy numbers on. Does this mean I will be entitled to two different claims?
Thanks0 -

If you have received a CPP letter they will have all the details of the policy and will refund accordingly, just vote yes, my vote letter came through yesterday and touched the bottom of the mailbox this morning.Thriftkitten

Lots of questions here, and not so many answers...but still.
I got the second letter from CPP today and I will vote YES.
But thinking this through I realise I had this long before 2005. If my recollection is correct it was sold to us by Barclays (as part of a Barclaycard thing) and we haven't had an account with Barclays or a Barclaycard since 199 and I have no way of knowing (a) what our account number was - though I know the branch. (b) what we paid to CPP during that time.
Clearly if I have a case for compensation for payments since 2005 I also have one for earlier payments, but how do I found out what they were? Any ideas?0 -
Voting call to arms - i am intrigued as to how this vote is going to work. As there are a large number of lapsed CPP policies then will respondents ever be able to claim a majority? If to be effective you need 75% support then the likelihood of that being reached seems slim. Appreciating this is based on a sample of 1, i received no letter as it went to an old address. Unlike another forum member the 0800 free call, whilst slow, went quite well. I had no policy number, but was able to answer the security questions. that included my telephone number from 2007. So who needed to record all that personal data with these guys anway, when you ad such recollective powers. Elett's see now if the letter turns up.Forest Thoughts0

It's driving me mad.
I don't do id protection or any other protection for that matter as I always think I'm pretty astute when it comes to insurance cover but this one must have slipped past me
I just can't for the life of me think what it could be so phoned cpp who said it was (likely) a card from HSBC on CHRISTMAS DAY (we were on holiday in Egypt) which I cancelled 51.5 weeks later
   :huh:I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -
I had cpp pre 2005. They took the money out of my Barclaycard or Capital One card, not sure which one. When I tried to cancel they refused and said I had to wait until it came up for renewal next time. By the time it was up for renewal I no longer had the Barclaycard or Capital One card. but they went and took the money from another credit card I had registered with them without my knowledge. I phoned and complained but still didn't get my money back. I did eventually cancel before it renewed again.
Who do I claim off ? As they took the money from two different cards.
I don't even remember agreeing to it in the first place.
Secondly. if my claim is upheld, how will they refund me ? The second payment they took from a different card I still have. So would a refund be to the second card or a cheque/transfer ?
Anybody have any ideas ?
I am not even sure if claiming money back from applies to me.0
