Reclaim CPP article discussion

I paid for CPP Identity Protection for years and years - starting pre 2000 I'm sure right up until 2008. All of my documentation was lost when I was evicted from my previous address. Is it still possible to claim if I don't know my account number and don't have any statements to show? I remember them writing to me inviting me to claim but I didn't take any action at the time as I was in employment and thought it would probably not amount to much. The deadline for claiming passed in about 2012 - 2013 but I see from your
forum that it might be still possible to get some money back. Please advise. Thanks in anticipation.0 -

I have found my old CPP letters, formally Cardwise. I have seen various articles and I think that |I am past the closing date for claims, but just wanted to double check0

Yes you are past the closing date for post-2005 CPPSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Many thanks for that, but this is pre 2005, it was late 1980's early 1990's0

Hi. A few years ago I successfully claimed back PPI from HSBC. I vaguely recall that they sent a form that I had to sign which said that I would not claim from them again. I signed it as I didn't have any other loans etc with them.
I have however recently discovered that I am paying for card guard on my HSBC credit card. I understand that I could be eligible to claim this back too (and would like to as i've had it for many many years) but my question is am not allowed to claim given that I signed their form?
any advice cheers :-)0 -
You can complain about it certainly, but don't get your hopes up. The CPP scheme ended a while ago. If you can show you were paying for this elsewhere they will refund it.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

In trying to find documents to support a PPI claim, I've discovered evidence of a Barclays Cardholder Protection Policy that was in place on my cards in early 2000's. Another document in mid 2000's shows several cards were covered by this policy. I've put in a PPI claim to Barclays, which may also be valid in its own right, but have I missed the opportunity to claim for CPP? thanks,0
