    So that's non-claimable?
It's a non-refundable fee you paid in order to use the card. On what basis would you expect a refund if you actually used the card?
  • Hi,

I received the CPP form and have looked at the reasons to fill in the white box but I have no idea what I purchased or anything else. I remember activating cards from a sticker and possibly buying card protection things.

I was paying regularly a Barclays bank loan, MBNA card, Barclaycard, Morgan Stanley card and Capital One card, all of which are companies involved in the redress scheme.

In 2006 I became in debt due to me losing my job, so was on a debt consolidation programme which I later found out robbed me blind :(.

Anyway, after consulting CAB advice I am now paying all 4 credit cards £1 a month to repay the debt. My bank loan was paid off due to PPI payments.

What can I put in the white box if I'm not sure what I purchased from these companies?.

Also, am I still entitled even if I had PPI payments from Barclays bank loan and Barclaycard?.

Much advice would be helpful please!

    Thanks

    Andy:)

I wrote to the scheme processing CPP compensation requesting the details of the bank who sold me the product.

Having no recall of buying CCP from a bank I would like to know ?

The answer to one ( of two ) arrived by return it seems that the first payment was paid to Citi in October 1999.

I am not sure what the next step to take is but I will now await answer for the other query pending .

I have received a letter off CPP saying they have sold me a policy and I could be due some money back. But I don't know which policy? I vaguely remember when we got an Asda credit card it had a sticker on it with a number we had to ring to activate the card. How do we find out what sort of policy we have got. I think Asda then were with Santander but thet are with Sygma now.
  • Hi all,
I have my CPP claim form and am fairly happy with what to put on there.
I called the CPP Claims line to find out when my policy started, and they also had info such as which card the policy was for etc (although I already knew this). I see a few people asking about how to find this out on the forum. I called 0800 083 4393 and they were very helpful.

My question here is actually regarding the period prior to 14th Jan 2005. My policy started in 1999 (the same month I got the credit card). I was actually quite shocked to learn the policy was still going. I thought I had cancelled it, but am probably wrong. I genuinely dont recall seeing a letter prior to the latest renewal, but admit that I may have missed this.

I digress, what I want to ask about is peoples experience of claiming back the amount paid before 2005. My card issuer is Natwest. I have downloaded the template from this site for making a claim direct to the bank, and altered it as required to explain that I am claiming for the 1999 to 2005 period.

I called Natwest to ask about getting copies of my statements back to 1999, but was told this was not possible. As soon as I mentioned CPP I was put on hold and transfered to CPP (who I had already spent a large portion of my lunch break talking to!)

I have written my letter and will post it tonight, but before I do I wanted to check for any tips based on experience with Natwest.

    Thanks in advance
    James

August 2014 is the deadline if i remember correctly:

Update from the CPP section of this site (I am unable to post links as i am new)
Letters being sent between 10-26 February

The letter (shown right) will ask you if you want to be considered for redress. It'll include a claim form that has to be completed, signed and returned in the envelope provided by CPP by 30 August 2014.

Ok thanks, well if I haven't had anything by 1st March I will call them. I definitely spoke to them a week or two ago and confirmed my new address.

Yes all claims must be received by them by the 30th August 2014 so you have plenty of time to receive your claim form and to fill it in and return it to them.
