Father In law had this product from Yorkshire Bank but when he contacted the bank they said they didn't give the same cover as cpp. Is this correct?
Thanks in advance

Ok, I know I will be repeating what a lot of others have asked, but I really do not know what to put on my form...and before any one screams NOT THAT QUESTION AGAIN, I knew nothing about CPP until I received the original letter back in November. I have absolutely no idea , as any paper work/contracts I had concerning credit cards are long gone, with the cards I had. So not sure which option to enter, or should I put both.
Thank you in advance for any advice given.0 -
I called CPP today to ask what card I had protection on. I was told it was my debenhams card from 1998-2008 when I cancelled the protection. I cannot find any paperwork and have no idea if I can claim, has anyone else claimed against a store card and if so what did you put your reasons for claiming? Any help would be appreciated, thanks0

I am tempted after my claim is resolved and cover cancelled to contact them and attempt to haggle a new deal, but wonder about any drawbacks and ideally about any competitors.
The whole point of this thread (and the refund scheme itself) is to make people aware that no one needs this insurance because most of it's cover is either useless or duplicated elsewhere.0 -
I am not sure what to put in section b - as I can't remember whether I paid for card or identity protection. Should I put in a statement for both?
FYI the only proof that I have is on a Natwest statement for CARD PROTECTION - £70. However is it started that Card protection would have been only £30 for the year and that is why I am confused.0 -
I have received my claim form from CPP and am still not sure what to put in Section B.have read the post that tells you what to write in section B the trouble is I can't rememberI really do not know what to put on my form...

It's all there, unless you want to buy alternate cover for the same thing, that's a whole other thread topic.0 -
The information provided is helpful but the actual question being posed on the forum is not answered within the suggested answers. If there is no idea what was said at the time the policy was taken out how can a (truthful) reply be selected? I'm sure that is the part a lot of people (including us) are struggling with. My wife has received two letters so we assume this refers to a policy and ID protection. They are identical though with no way of knowing which is which. They were cancelled some time ago so the paperwork is long gone.
Given this site's record I'm sure it won't be long before this is clarified.0 -

If you don't know why you bought the policy then you truthfully have no grounds for claiming that you were mis-sold it and so no need to apply for any compensation. If you're just hoping to get some cash because the offer of compensation is there, then that's really up to you and your conscience what you put on the form. I don't think it's reasonable to ask other members of this forum to collude with you.0 -
davemidd. Thank you for the honest answer. Its about clarity not collusion. I reworded what others were asking in an attempt to get that clarity. Formal documents and the way they are worded frighten and confuse people as we all know. Knowing what was said at the time is different to knowing why we signed up. That's easy!Someone suggested it was a good idea and gave the benefits in a way now classed as misselling. From reading the recent posts everyone is making an effort to be honest . As usual with anything like this the letter from CPP is very well and bery cleverly written.
Good luck to all reclaiming.0 -
After reading about this I had a vague recollection of taking out a CPP policy years ago. I rang the number on this website and they told me I had the policy for a number of years, but cancelled it just before the redress scheme kicks in! Typical, I thought that would be the end of it, but thought it was worth a quick letter to Nationwide so printed off a copy of the template and have just received a letter saying they are paying £230 into my account!! Result. Many thanks to all the team for making the process so easy0
