  • Hi

Hopefully im in the right place for this post

I received a CPP letter I was unsure who this company was at first but I was advised to complete the form by the bank

Where it said why do you want to claim I just said I wanted to be reimbursed for any money owed to me ( I had no idea what to say) but now I've read this details on the website it seems I should of been a lot clearer.

I'm totally confused now should I get another form from somewhere and resubmit it with the template answers on this website?

Any advice welcome I really don't want to miss out

If you've already replied that that's the information they're going to use to decide whether to give you compensation or not.

I would suggest contacting them and explaining the situation. Details at http://www.cppredressscheme.co.uk/contact_us.html

    Same site - http://www.cppredressscheme.co.uk/faq.html
    It really is worth reading.
Not all customers have been contacted as they are not covered by the scheme. This may be because:

-based on the books and records of CPP as at 27 June 2013 the policyholder, was deceased on or prior to 27 June 2013

You really should read - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/CPP-card-protection
The redress scheme is only for people mis-sold card and identity protection products in 2005 and later. If you were mis-sold before 2005 (when insuarnce wasn't regulated), you won't have recieved a letter.
    and
You can complain to your bank though if you were mis-sold before 2005. These things are best done in writing, but if that's too difficult, don't worry about calling. Just ask they note it down as a formal complaint, and also ask for written confirmation.
  • thank you
i have received the letter and returned them,i belive they have just renewed the policy without telling me,,(i,m still with the same bank) big mistake!!!
i have also found letters from cpp dated 07

so thanks davemidd,,,i will wait with bated breath,

A fine for mis-selling a product doesn't mean that all policies were mis-sold and therefore all policy holders are entitled to compensation. if that were true then it would have been detailed in the FSA findings and everybody would automatically get their money back.

Therefore there is no guarantee that my claim for compensation will be successful and I would still need to find a suitable replacement cover. Thanks for the advice.

I note from some comments that a claim in this case should in the view of some bar me from arranging future cover providing many of the benefits provided by CPP, but I beg to differ.

I am sending off my claim today and will await a payment in due course. When this is received I will look into finding a new cover to provide a one call facility to deal with multiple lost/stolen cards. I wonder in fact if I may receive an invitation from CPP in this respect based no doubt on an attractive discount!

I find no contradiction in accepting compensation for mis-selling and finding SOME of the benefits provided still attractive AT AN APPROPRIATE PRICE.

This is my first foray into this sort of forum and apologise for any inadvertent breaches of etiquette.

Finally in case of future need how would I reverse current sequence selected to view postings (latest first) which I chose based on email experience but find in fact not helpful for this sort of exercise?
