Help - I have letters from CPP going back to 1994 (I was divorced 1993) so prior to that not available. The letters both relate to my renewals and are from CPP with a head office in York, so why, if Martins guidance is right, would I go to my bank (Natwest throughout) for the refund prior to 2005, rather than the address given in my recent claim compensation letter from CPP? Can anyone clarify and suggest the right address to send my letter to?0

Hi. Newby here so please be gentle lol. I am a bit confused re CPP for me. I remember having a sticker on my purse years ago for when my husband and I took out a Barclaycard Credit card (it was implied at the time that if we didn't then we wouldn't get the card). This was pre 2005. After reading on this site how to claim I used the template letter , slightly modified to my circumstances, and sent it to the Barclays branch where the card was taken out - as advised on this site. It will be eight weeks next Friday since I sent the letter and so far have heard nothing from the bank or Barclaycard BUT, after phoning CPP to find out my policy number (which took three calls and about an hour of my time) I received a letter with the policy number on and now have had the letters from them, including one today with a claim form in. I have filled it in and sent it back BUT am now confused.
As it was before 2005 will I be included in the scheme? Should I go ahead with informing the Financial Ombudsman if I don't hear back from bank etc by next Friday?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!0 -
Sent off my claim form today. Will try not to be too optimistic & will report back when I hear from CPP, whatever the outcome.
Thank you to those who helped in clarifying a few confusing points.0 -

I received a letter from CPP I have had a protection policy with them since 2005, I dont know what to write in the space asking me why I want to be considered for compensation.
would appricate any help, thank you.0 -
Having insisted I go through Barclaycard, I got a letter directly from CPP today saying they were sorry about my complaint and would be looking into this.
I don't know if this was via my direct call to them last week or if this was in response to contact to Barclaycard?

Do have a look at my reply earlier in the thread. It gives the reasons I used for ID Theft and Card Fraud policy mis-selling.

Hi there I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone could send me in the correct direction for some help.
Basically i moved into a new property about 14 months ago and transferred all my banking to that address, i have received a CPP letter to this address, but i have also received something addressed to my father (he has never lived there, but lived at the same address as me previously(we share no bank accounts/credit cards)) Both he and i are becoming worried that someone has used his name at my address to obtain a credit card, but on calling the phone numbers on the letters they are spectacularly unhelpful, where should i go from here?0 -
Not recieved my letter yet, should i chase it up or are they still being sent out?0

Only received mine today, mum received hers over a week ago, so they are on their way.0
