Does anybody have a definitive response as to what to put in the box?
I was going to say that the product I was sold wasn't adequately explained to me hence I didn't know what I was purchasing? Will this suffice?
The problem is ive got 3 claim forms and I cant recall what they related to - one is for a NatWest card as ive still got the original letter0 -

If you can't remember, then put that with reasons you think may apply.
People need to worry less about getting this somehow "wrong". There is no definitive answer, but the space provided indicates that they are not looking for any epic descriptions of what happened.0 -
For ID theft, I put:
The risk of identity theft was exaggerated to me so I purchased the policy. I was also urged to buy ID protection for my wife and son as I was led to believe this to be essential.
I was incorrectly led to believe that I was liable for debts that someone else might take out using my details.
For Card Protection:
The policy stated that it covered me for £100,000 worth of unauthorised transactions after I informed CPP of the loss or theft however I did not need to buy this protection as the bank or card issuer were responsible for any transactions after a loss or theft was reported
The policy stated that it covered me for £5,000 worth of unauthorised transactions beforeI informed CPP of the loss or theft however I did not need to buy this protection as the bank or card issuer would cover any amount over £50 of those transactions anyway.

Hope this helps

Hello,
My Dad has received the CPP letter & I've taken everything he has on it & am trying to sort it out for him (he's 85). I made him cancel the policy (HSBC CardGuard) in 2012 which is when I realised he had it. Thing is he's had it continuously since 1994. I believe it was mis-sold with the threat of identity theft scaring him and perhaps confusion as to the extent of the service - he had his AA and Matalan cards registered. My question is do I complain straight to HSBC for all the years or do I fill in the CPP letter to claim for 2005 to 2012 and HSBC for 1994 to 2005?0 -
Hi everyone,
Re: Natwest Card Protection
I know there has been a few people asking what to write in the box. I just received my letter, and I was planning to write that I was mis-sold this policy as I telephoned the number on the sticker on my card to activate my credit card and did not know by doing this, I was being sold this policy.........and then I was going to also add the reasons under the section "Why you may be entitled to a refund".
Also, I telephone CPP yesterday and they said that their redress only covers from 2005 to 2011, and I need to speak to my bank about pre 2005 claims.
I intend to write to the bank to make an additional claim for pre 2005. However when I read the letter again it says:
Please note that even if you do not return a completed claim form you will have no right to make a mis-selling claim in the future. This is because, if you do not submit a claim form then, under the scheme, all rights to make future mis-selling claims in respect of your policy are extinguished.
Does this mean that I cannot claim for pre 2005, if I return this letter? I have had this credit card since 1998.
Any advice would be great - thanks x0 -
I received the letter today and have no idea whatsoever to write in section B. I have no idea which accounts/cards I had this protection for nor do I know how much they cost me. I have no recollection of agreeing to this cover. I am at a loss what I should say.
Help help help .......Please don't mock the afflicted0 -
