It shouldn't do - as long as they can read it you'll be fine.
  • Do you think I could get the letter re-sent out if I call them?.
Unless someone here has gone through the same there can be no certainty. Better to give it a try - call them and ask if you can get a replacement letter/claim form.

It takes three weeks (as someone reported some posts back).
  • They are very particular on how form is filled in, must be in block capitals and all writing inside the box so it is clear when scanned on computer. I did the same, it should have said on that side of the form rather than the front. Theres too much on that form to read so easily missed. I called them about it and they are sending me another form but will take a while to come as been told any re issued forms are sent at the end. Also the lady's husband that burnt form, yes call them and request another to be sent out.

    Hi Everyone,

I too have received the CPP claim forms and need a bit of help navigating:

From 2007 I signed up to a Barclays packaged current account (charged at about £6.50 per month) which included amongst other "benefits" a cardholder protection plan. As the name suggests, it was meant to provide cover and "peace of mind" should any of my CC/store/debit cards or ID docs be lost or stolen.

I also signed up separately to an Identity Protection Plan with CPP to "protect" me against ID fraud. I was paying £5.99 per month for this. At the time I was not fully aware that neither this nor the Barclays policy was necessary as it (they) either didn't provide protection that didn't already exist or exaggerated the risks to my ID being stolen or maliciously used.

Question: In addition to completing the CPP claim form should I also write to Barclays bank (I closed my account in 2012) requesting a refund of (part) of the monthly account fee I paid for over 5 years which would have serviced the cardholder protection plan?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    This is from
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/CPP-card-protection

"✖Who is excluded from the scheme?

Broadly speaking, most people that were sold the card protection product are in line for redress. However, some are excluded from the scheme, including:

Anyone who didn’t purchase either of the products from either CPP or one of the banks as a stand-alone product. For example, this applies if you got it as part of a packaged current account. If you think you were mis-sold your packaged account, read the Reclaim Packaged Accounts guide for how to reclaim."

I have just complained about being mis sold my Barclays Additions Plus account (for reasons not related to CPP).

I found the person I spoke to at Barclays to be quite obstructive and had to persevere to register a complaint!

I still haven't received my claim forms :(
  • Hi there

Has anybody completed their form yet? Ive got three claim forms, I believe two were for Natwest credit cards and one was for Capital One Key Cover but I don't want to fill the form in incorrectly -is it correct that I should just say I believe I was sold the policy incorrectly or should I list one of the reasons on the front page

    Thanks in advance
  • Aaargh so annoyed.

I received a CPP letter through the post last week but assumed it was just a spam/junk mail and hubby used it to light the fire :(.

I only realised it was a legitimate letter when I read MSE this morning

Just a little update in case there are any other numpties like us that ditched the letter.

Just spoke to a nice chap who said they will send me out another letter, may take a couple of weeks as they prioritise the people who haven't even had a letter yet.

So good news. At least I haven't missed my chance to claim. xx
  • I've also received a claim form from CPP - I know I took it out originally when I received a new card from HSBC but can't remember exactly how long ago it was. I've also renewed it twice since. Will this have any adverse affect on my claim at all? I notice on the claim form under Section B has to be filled in to be considered for a claim - would it suffice to say as stated by Martin that a. I was told that I need it for fraud protection & b. The risk of fraud was overstated, scaring me into getting the product, which I thought was to be provided by my bank?

I only have one pre-paid envelope for some reason and need to return my wife and son's form separately.

Is it permitted and accepted by Royal Mail to photocopy the prepaid envelope and stick this on a plain one??

    TIA
