Because if I know what card I will then remember if I did have it for a reason at the time or if I can really claim I was mis-sold it. I don't want to claim if I did in fact have it for something.Paddle No 21 :wave:0

FYI when giving the CPP reference number, which in my case and my wife's start "ID", the Barclaycard claim form will only accept numbers!

Aaargh so annoyed.
I received a CPP letter through the post last week but assumed it was just a spam/junk mail and hubby used it to light the fire.
I only realised it was a legitimate letter when I read MSE this morning
Do you think I could get the letter re-sent out if I call them?.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I too have received the CPP claim forms and need a bit of help navigating:
From 2007 I signed up to a Barclays packaged current account (charged at about £6.50 per month) which included amongst other "benefits" a cardholder protection plan. As the name suggests, it was meant to provide cover and "peace of mind" should any of my CC/store/debit cards or ID docs be lost or stolen.
I also signed up separately to an Identity Protection Plan with CPP to "protect" me against ID fraud. I was paying £5.99 per month for this. At the time I was not fully aware that neither this nor the Barclays policy was necessary as it (they) either didn't provide protection that didn't already exist or exaggerated the risks to my ID being stolen or maliciously used.
Question: In addition to completing the CPP claim form should I also write to Barclays bank (I closed my account in 2012) requesting a refund of (part) of the monthly account fee I paid for over 5 years which would have serviced the cardholder protection plan?
Thanks in advance.0 -

I value the remaining benefits of my card protection plan (cancelling all cards in one phone call, cover for lost handbag, wallet and cash that is stolen, keys that are lost etc.) and do not want to cancel it. The letter implies that a claim will result in cancellation of the policy. Does this mean I cannot claim for being mis-sold the unnecessary elements of the cover?
In addition I have just paid the three year renewal premium and wonder if when CPP cancel my policy this will be refunded?
(My policy is Marks & Spencer Card Safe)0 -
The section that reads 'Why you want to be considered for compensation' is a little confusing, do I need to state any details here about how long I had the policy?
A guide to what to write would be really useful!
Thanks,

A bit unsure as the CPP claim form only mentions that I may be eligible for compensation for my identity protection policy; no mention of my cardholder protection policy.
Should I just go ahead and make mention of both policies on the claim form and leave to them to resolve?0 -

This will make me sound stupid but then again. I am. I filled in the form they sent but then reading back it says to write in black and in capitals. I didn't write in capitals. Will this affect my claim?0
