The letter claims that if you claim compensation you will cancel your policy and lose benefits - as we have a current policy should we not claim as it is paid for 3 years0
-
Both my son and my wife had CPP letters about compensation so I rang to ask them why.
It was because I bought mine through Barclaycard and not directly by phone.
They said I could take it up with Barclays directly, but not with CPP themselves.
If people receive compensation, does this assume that the current provision with CPP is then cancelled?
TIA

Seems I had 2 CPP insurance things. One I bought myself years ago and another with my Barclaycard as I didn't realise they were the same thing and thought having it was part of the deal. However I don't know which policy is which and my reasons for claiming will be different on each. So is there some way I can find out which policy number corresponds to which policy - for instance does the suffix E or F on Policy number give any clue?0

I have policy with Sentinel Card Services, which is pretty much the same thing as the CPP policies are, going back many years to when I first got a Barclaycard Credit Card. I rang the CPP helpline number and they had no record of me but suggested I call Barclaycard instead, so I did ring Barclaycard to make a complaint about mis-selling of Card Protection Insurance just on the off-chance. They said they would look into it for me and sent me an acknowledgement letter, this was early in January 2014. Today I got my monthly Barclaycard statement via email and I have £460.91 credit referring to card protection and related interest, minus tax! Out of the blue, no other notification, just from one 'phone call a few weeks ago! Thanks Money Saving Expert, I wouldn't have done this without your email alerts! :T0

2 different claim forms came today, here is what I wrote, hope it helps someone.
Ref numbers etc etc
Dear Sir
I would like to request that you process a claim for compensation against the failed CPP, This is due to the "overstated" risk of ID Fraud, which I was told I would need to ensure protection up to the value of £100.000, should this happen.
This now appears to be misleading information as it has been made aware to me that having reported any fraudulent action to my bank or card issuer I would of been immediately protected after the first £50.
Also my policy auto renewed annually which means a cycle of many years has been paid for with myself being non the wiser until now. etc etc etc....
Oh happy valentines day by the way and looking forward to a fat cheque..... (joke) I left that bit out!!!
Hope this is ok please advise if notThriftkitten

Afternoon everyone. My husband received his forms today and we can't remember who it relates to, so after reading others post I got him to ring and the man said he can't give him any information he's got to write. Anyone else had this happen.
Thanks

I haven't received a form yet, got all the other letters before though.
Do you have to write on the forms what CPP plan or Credit Card you had it for or is all that on the form already.
I do not have any statements prior to last year for any of my credit cards/debit cards as everything was online. I do not remember which card was taken out with CPP0 -

I have no idea either... however I do remember a phone call years ago stating that this fraud cover would cover me for up to £100.000, just cant remember which card it was for so I'm going with that, you do not have to name the card.Thriftkitten

Great news, thanks! I have Sentinel as well and kept it going for the information storage (keys, passports etc)...that's as well as CPP for the fraud protection and ID theft!
I'll ask Barclaycard about that and the CPP policy I bought via them.
