On here the advice is to make a claim to Sainsbury's bank. Is this still subject to the Saturday deadline?
You can still complain about that insurance, just not to CPP. You haven't missed any deadline to do so.

And where do I send a claim?

    To Sainsbury's Bank

I no longer have the original paperwork, and anyway, the address may have changed since my policy started in 1997! ( It carried on to pass 2005).
Your address change is not the problem, it's whether there will be any records of your finance 17 years on.

Nothing in the accompanying paperwork defines what the payment represents and it was not a very large payments. So I am left with a curiosity as I have no idea how much I had paid and if I received a correct payment!
As I said to the other poster with the same concern a few posts back, they refund all the CPP you paid, plus attendant interest, plus 8% simple interest.

Most people have only received modest sums because that's all that was paid in the first place.

    This is not PPI.

The refund scheme which ends on Saturday only covers the period post 2005.

Mis-selling complaints about CPP policies prior to January 2005 must go to the original seller of the insurance and are not subject to the same deadline.

I had a claim form sent to me for this a few months ago but ignored it. To be honest, with all the annoying PPI I thought it was just junk. Anyway, found the old claim form last week so posted it off. Didn't even know I had this CPP rubbish. I certainly never agreed to it.
  • hi folks just a quick note to say.. that i hadn't received CPP forms as they were going to the old address. So i called spoke to a team member and they said If you write in to CPP asap and let them know their details were wrong, and ask them to consider you for extenuation circumstances, and therefore to extend the date - IN ORDER TO SEND YOU NEW FORMS- it is highly likely they will. so please you've got till tomorrow and sat. Cant help but try? Ill keep you all posted! x

  • Hello,

Question on behalf of my parents: are all CPP policies bad?

They have been paying a CPP policy for a number of years, the main benefits of which are (i) one number to call if cards lost/stolen and (ii) key/luggage tags for lost/stolen house/car keys, baggage, etc.

In 2012, the premium was £79 for a year. In 2013, the premium was £74 for 3x years - and this renewal letter stated that the £100,000 cover for transactions on a stolen card had been removed.

As they have knowingly taken out this policy each year, they dont feel mis-sold, but are concerned about the quality of such a policy from such a company.

    Advice greatfully received!

They're okay if you need that service, and it isn't too bad a price - but you do have to put the effort in - as if you change banks, get a new credit card, etc, you'll have to let the provider know otherwise some cards won't get cancelled!

If you're unlikely to loose your cards, or only have one or two banks to call, it's probably not required!

Plus you can always make up your own tags - e.g. with a mobile number or office, etc - just don't put your home address on the key tag!!!
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)
