We have asked twice in branch at Santander for a form as my husband never received a letter.
Any letters are sent by CPP, not Santander! It's hardly surprising you have yet to receive anything if you've gone into a Bank branch…

do I pay the cheque in - or do I pursue for FULL redress dating back to the start of the "policy" before 2005?
Since the Scheme only ever covered the period post January 2005 then you can cash the cheque and make a separate complaint to HSBC who originally sold you the insurance in 2001.

How do they work out the compensation I am entitled to?
You receive a refund of your CPP policy payments, plus attendant interest, plus 8% simple interest.

    Hi,
for people sending CPP forms back via recorded delivery, the postal address is different according to the CPP helpline.
The return address at the bottom of the CPP form will not accept recorded delivery.
This is the address I was given by them, for recorded deliveries.
CPP Scheme, Abbey View, William Lea, Gate 1, Penfold Drive, Wymondham, NR18 OW2.
You can call them to confirm on their freephone number. I just did, thank goodness.
    Good luck!

Ah well, too late for me as I posted mine special delivery this morning to the address on the envelope which is the PO Box address.

Bad luck, it'll probably still get there-but there won't be anyone to sign for it.
You've probably actually slowed the delivery rather than hastened it.

Don't send them the original form if you've already returned a duplicate.

I was only considering doing this to cover myself in case they hadn't received the form I did return to them. However, I have now mislaid the original yet again so probably won't find it in time.

Even if you do, I recommend you do not duplicate your complaint.

Okay, so the form arrived today. I thought, this is a bit light. Opened it, read the blurb carefully, then took a deep breath as I paged through for the form.

It's one page long! The only piece I have to fill in is a big box that asks why I think I'm eligible. Huh... This is weird. I remember the original envelope being thick. Really thick! One of the reasons I didn't bother filling it in was because I was asked to include so much detail, I had no idea where to start!

Unless of course, I'm imagining it? Am I going mad, or can anyone else corroborate my story? All I can think is that if the form was this easy the first time I saw it, there's virtually no way I would've thrown it away. I remember tearing it up and it was at least 10 pages thick!
