  • These are the two companies I have had protection with.
I gather they are not covered by the claims process -am I correct?
Should I still try? Thanks for any advice.

    Hi,

My mom passed away but I am sure she had an CPP because I saw some of her paper works before.

Do you think I can make a claim for her? And if yes, do I need to get a proof like a Will? My only worry is, I need to get a copy of the will from our solicitor and I could be charge a lot and find out that I could not claim anyway,,

    Please advise.

    Many thanks.
  • I have received my CPP claim letter to fill in - the second one - I lost the first one. Question I have is....I very stupidly took this out in 1995....yup you read that right!
The claim scheme is from 2005 - which is fine - as I was still paying for cover but MSE say to contact my bank if I took it out before then.
Now I'm confused - do I send the claim form AND contact the bank or do one or other???

Yes, two time periods require separate complaints to different recipients.

Unlikely, unless you have all the details (account numbers, documentation etc) rather than just being "sure" she had CPP.
You'd also have to prove you can act on her behalf.

You have only a month left to do this.

I have had various credit cards over the last 15 years and received the cpp claim form and various letters over the last year. Nowhere did these forms state through which policy (or policies) I had been mis-sold cpp although obviously I had been. I returned the claim and two weeks later received a cheque for a mighty ...£47! Would this be correct or should they not supply the details of the mis-sold policy. Should I take the money and run......?

No one here can confirm or deny how much CPP you paid, to whom, or when.

    Only if you request it.
A doubtless futile exercise, though, as they are hardly likely to send you information which conflicts with the refund you have received.
  • I posted my claim form in february, & recieved a letter in june to say that they had not recieved my claim form.
Returned another claim form, & they are now saying they have not recieved this one also!
I have requested another form, but time is running out, how can 2 forms be lost.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
Now awaiting a 3rd claim form to be posted to me.
  • My 78 year old father has received the letter, and had a Barclaycard for many years (almost certainly prior to, and after, 2005). He was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2009, and this has progressed to the point where he can't now have a meaningful conversation about anything. He is unable to understand the letter or what is going on, or answer questions about it.

I have LPA so can apply on his behalf, but have no way of knowing if he was mis-sold. I did find one statement with a £70 CPP fee on it, so I am pretty certain he's paid through the nose.

    Can anyone offer any advice?

    Harry
