  • I sent my CPP forms back a 2 - 3 months ago. Does anyone know when I'll hear back if I have been successful or not?

How long did other people have to wait?

    Many thanks,

    Alex

That's too long. You need to chase them up. Have you had an acknowledgement that they received your letter?
  • Thanks Martin. I followed your guidance and received £519.

My policy with CPP is still current. Should I cancel, then claim? Send the cancellation along with the claim form? Anyone had experience of this?
    Thanks :-)

If you complain and are successful then your policy will be cancelled regardless.
Remember you only have next month in which to send your forms back.

I just received a cheque for £403 - had no idea how much to expect but very happy with that!

I'm pretty sure that I had CPP cover as part of my bank account benefits (paid for with the monthly account fee). Does that mean I was the policyholder - and therefore entitled to redress? Or was it the bank's policy - and I'm therefore ineligible? Grateful for any help.

I've just had a cheque for £229 following my CPP claim through the redress system- YIPEE!

But I noticed it is only calculated on payments since 2005 whereas I actually took out the policy in 1992 (until current date) so I was hoping it would go back to when I started. The small print says it refunds only from 2005 onwards because that's when FSA started to regulate this industry. So,I was pleased, but also bit disappointed. Am I being ungrateful?

It also means I need to shop around for a credit card protection scheme which just literally provides the service of one phone call to report loss and all relevant cards stopped & replacements ordered. That's what I took it out for in first place. Any suggestions from anyone? The only one I've seen so far is through same company, CPP and is called Card Rescue, but at £19.99 per year, it's not a lot less than my last policy.
  • I called the CPP helpline and they said your policy was sold in 2012 and hence you are not eligible for claim. is that true?

No "small print", the scheme covers only the period from January 2005 (which is when regulation began).

So you've complained that your policy was useless to you and had it all refunded and now you want the insurance again? You can't see any contradiction there?
