I've received a claim form but I'm darned if I can remember what card/policy it would even relate to!I'm in exactly the same position. I received one of these letters, but I have no record of the card
Instead of forlornly asking on a discussion forum about personal financial details no one here has any access to, why don't you both call the scheme team directly and ask them?
The number is in the letter you have received, mentioned over and over in this thread and included in the MSE advice article.
The number is 08000 83 43 93.
The MSE advice article is here;

Hi All,
My mum had an M&S card safe policy since 1997 which she was mis-sold. On behalf of my mum I applied to CPP for the post-2005 premiums to be refunded and was successful.
However, I then applied to M&S Bank to credit my mum for the pre-2005 and they flatly refused stating that because she took out the policy and continued to pay then she obviously new exactly what it was so no mis-selling could have taken place.
Disappointed, I took it upon myself to contact The Financial Ombudsman Service. It has taken a few months but they have finally come back with "Because the policy was taken out in 1997 and M&S Bank was unregulated at that time there is nothing we can do about it. Sorry."
Do you know if there is anything else I can do or not?
I believe the M&S Bank is or was run by HSBC if that helps.0 -

Because the model I chose had been superseded by a new one and there was clearly an incentive to the dealer to "shift the metal" there was an offer of a £1250.00 discount by Ford to induce me to buy. However, the dealer insisted that I must also take out a loan with Ford Finance to purchase the vehicle - despite my having no need for a loan. It was either "take the loan or you don't get the car because this is a condition imposed by Ford" so I was obliged to do so, encouraged by the dealer stating that the loan could be paid off within a week or two if I wished. I suspected that it was the dealer aiming to benefit from the loan rather than a condition imposed by Ford but could not prove it.
I reluctantly accepted the arrangement (because I particularly wanted the car due to its spec and colour) and did indeed pay off the loan after a week or two - but of course I lost out on the arrangement fees, etcetera, to the tune of £252.00. Now, looking at the original purchase documentation I’m not even sure that the £1250.00 discount was implemented (a check on the published list price (if still available) for that particular model would be necessary.
There is no indication on the “fordAcquire” documentation that the loan was mandatory – and I specifically declined the Protected Payments Plan section of the hire purchase agreement. Whatever, was this a case of mis-selling and is there any redress?
If the agreement doesn't mention the loan being mandatory, why did you go ahead and sign the contract ? You did read the contract ?
The errors appear to be all your own.0 -
Hi
I had a credit card as a student with Natwest while I was at Uni. This would have been from 1997 to 2003 when I paid it all off. I definitely had card protection on this card, as I remember paying it - but I never asked for the policy when taking the card out and was certainly led to believe it was a necessary part of having the card. Do you know if there is any way I can reclaim the payments I made? If so, what is the best way to do this?
Thanks in Advance :-)0 -

Hi,
I received a letter and I definitely remember having been mis-sold cardholder protection. The problem is I have had accounts with four banks over the years and I can't remember with which bank I purchased the protection. I am quite disorganised and I am currently abroad until just before the deadline. I do not have access to my old bank account details. Will I be successful if I write on the form that I know I paid for protection, but I am not sure with which bank?
Thanks for your help!0 -

What reasons will you give for mis-sale if you cannot even remember which Bank?
One thing is for sure, you are leaving it tight on time..0 -
Like I said, I'm very disorganised, but that's no excuse. I'm also abroad without my old bank statements etc. I changed banks during and after my student days. I'll just have to give it a go. I must take better control of my admin from now on!
Thanks for replying.

Thanks very much for the link. Does anyone know how likely it might be that I could be successful in my claim with the card having been from 1997 to 2003. Is that too old? Also, if I cannot find the credit card number, but know it was offered as part of my student bank account (same a/c number as my current account now, as it was just transferred) any ideas as to where I should start? I have been successful in reclaiming PPI on a loan from my bank, so fingers crossed with this :-)0
