I have trawled through the last few months of this thread and what I can gather from many posters is that they were in the same boat...they just filled in the template on here with no card details and waited for the postman to deliver a nice cheque...it appears that CPP have all your card details...just get the template written and jobs a good un
    Is the correct answer.:T
  • Hi,
I have received two forms with two different policy numbers. Not sure which form is for what like is it for £100000 cover or is it for £5000 unauthorised transactions. Can any one suggest what template (reasons) to use in Section B of the form.. Many thanks.

    Hi

I took out both the card protection and the ID theft protection and I got the reclaim letter which I filled in.

I was surprised when all I received back was the card protection premiums and not the ID theft premiums (which were considerably more).

CPP told me that as I purchased that policy from MBNA and not them directly then I was not part of the redress scheme. I spoke to MBNA and they said I was part of the redress scheme as it was a CPP policy.

Spoke to CPP again, who said the same thing and sent me written confirmation that I wasn't part of the redress scheme and I had to take my complaint to MBNA, which I did.

I eventually received a response from MBNA, who said they would not uphold my complaint, and no matter how many times I have read the letter they sent, I still cannot find any reason within it as to why!

What should I do now? Is the Ombudsman my only option?

I'm no expert but it appears that neither CPP or MBNA are taking responsibility ...if you think that you are due money back then to me this is the reason why the Ombudsman is there, to sort it out one way or the other

    good luck
  • just rung cpp about compensation and they told me my policy number and dates it started and finished but then said it wasn't taken out with them it was through my credit card company.
so I rung the credit card company and told them this and they say it wasn't cpp so why have I got paperwork from this company with the logo on for 4years if I haven't got it

The CPP scheme does not cover the OP, so CPP is out of the question. MBNA have clearly taken full responsibility by (eventually) considering the complaint.

MBNA have provided their "full and final" rejection and the OP's only option now if he remains dissatisfied is to refer the complaint to the Ombudsman.
  • Sorry, I may be being a bit stupid here, but what do you mean by OP?

The Originating or Original Poster, the person who initiated the query.:)

In this instance "Adm14" is the OP.
