I have just contacted CPP to request a claim form for identity protection insurance.
I was informed that the policy was sold by Jigsaw insurance who are dealing with their own claims but CPP does not have their contact details. I was advised to do a google search - which I have done but cannot find this company.
Does anyone have this experience and could someone please provide me with the contact number for jigsaw insurance?
Thanks

I have been informed the same but cannot find any contact details for Jigsaw - did you have any success?
Thanks

Evereddy;63071768]I have had CPP card protection for well over 10 years, will I get compensation for the years before 2005?
I had my policy since 1992 but the compensation letter to me said claim could only be post 2005 as they were not FS regulated before that time!0 -
For dblm worried about keys: Get a small pet ID tag engraved with suitable instructions. Obviously avoid any address or phone number identifiable to your address, otherwise the finder will have your house keys and the address they fit! You could put a friend's phone number, an email address or a request to hand them in to police or a local shop where you are known.0

I understand from comments on this website, that HSBC seems to be turning down all pre-2005 CPP claims with a generic letter.
Has anyone gone to the ombudsman for HSBC CPP?
I got a cheque for £154 back in April for the post-2005.
Following that, I decided to write to HSBC regarding the pre-2005 period, after all it was the same policy.
I've had a letter back today saying they can't upheld the complaint - pretty much identical to the one jamesw postedPPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
Having reads through lots of the questions on the Forum, I decided that the first step for me to take was to telephone the freephone helpline given on the letter because, although I remembered taking CPP out with Goldfish, I couldn't remember when I had taken it out or for how long I had paid it. I was also concerned because Goldfish was taken over by Barclaycard and I had cancelled the new card about 2 years ago.
When I phoned just over a week ago, I got a recorded message saying that there would be a delay of up to ten minutes before my call was answered. As it was an 0800 number, I held on.
The person I spoke to was very helpful. I gave him the details he requested and he confirmed that I had taken out the policy through my Goldfish credit card in June 1998 and cancelled the policy in July 2010.
He reiterated that the compensation scheme covered policies taken out after, or in place from January 2005 but as I had renewed my policy every 3 years (to save money) since 2004, he could arrange for me to be issued with a separate refund for the period of 7 January 2004 to 13 January 2005.
He told me to complete the compensation form for the period of January 2005 to July 2010 and return it in the reply paid envelope, which I did. He also advised me that as I believed the policy was misrepresented to me in June 1998, I should also try writing to Goldfish/Barclaycard asking them to consider a refund of premiums paid from then up to January 2004.
I wrote to them on 1 August. As yet, I haven't heard back from them.
I had two letters from CPP dated 4 August telling me that my complaint with them was being dealt with in two parts and that I would receive a refund cheque, plus interest, for the period 2004/05 within 7 - 10 working days. The later dates will be dealt with separately under the compensation scheme.
To my surprise, this morning (9 August) I received a cheque for £90.34 which was a refund of my premium of £55 (for 2004/05) plus interest of £44.17 (less £8.83 income tax.)
As Martin said, if you have had a letter, you are considered to have been mis-sold the policy.0 -

Hi Pete,
I've had a look and the letter I get back from M&S Bank (which I think is run by HSBC) is pretty similar too. In fact some of the text is identical.
I wrote to the ombudsman and they have said there is nothing they can do as the policy was taken out when M&S Bank was unregulated. They say they cannot even help from the time they became regulated. I have responded to the ombudsman and have yet to get a reply.
My post is #1549 in this thread if you'd like to have a read.0 -

If they have, they won't have an outcome. FOS referrals taken eighteen months.
As above, if you refer your complaint to FOS, you'll know the outcome in around eighteen months.
18 months? Yikes!!!PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0
