Hi all
Would appreciate your thoughts on this one, as I don't think what I was about to write would result in a successful claim.
I didn't know I had CPP so was going to write this must have been added without my consent and I am disgusted etc etc
When reading another thread it seems this would not count.
Would it be better to pick one of the scenarios described?
but how do you go down that route if you know nothing of the policy?0 -
If you got a letter from CPP, then they know something about your policy...fill in the form using the template and wait for the postman0

My husband threw away the cpp letter he received at the start of the year. He just call the number from this website and asked for a claim form and they wouldn't give it to him until he said what credit card/company it was with. He listed all he thought it could be and they said no and wouldn't send him the claim form despite him having the original letter before throwing it away? Any advice please?0

Regarding claiming from the Bank of Scotland, as well as the phone numbers 0800 409 6556 and 01383 641202 (if calling from a mobile), the address I recieved a cheque from is: Lloyds Banking Group, PO Box 548, Leeds, LS1 1WU.0

We originally joined up for CPP in 2000. My H has been dealing with the misselling aspect.
We were pretty certain we cancelled our policy around 2007, but this morning we recieved a letter from CPP, with the header
"CPP card protection"
Letting us know that our policy is due for renewel, but they can't do it automatically because we need to update payment details.
The charge is £70 for 3 years. I just went to their website and see that they have "card rescue" (as noticed on the MSE site) but that they are charging just £19.99 a year for this.
Anyone have any idea what is going on here? :undecided:undecided0 -
I had a CPP Card Protection Policy for a long time but was fairly certain I hadn't received a letter.
Today I rang the CPP number that MSE publicised: I still had my Policy No. (even though I cancelled the policy in 2010) so CPP retrieved all my details. They told me that I hadn't received a letter because I was sold their policy by an Insurance Company (now LV Insurance) that is not part of the Compensation scheme. A real pity, because I had the CPP policy for 16 years ! (1994 to 2010) Can MSE advise of any way round this?0 -
I am sat here totally gobsmacked!!! I have just received a cheque for £258.54 from CPP!!!! I really didn't think I was entitled to any money as I only has this protection for my credit cards and keys!! I lost my first form - probably chucked it but used a phone number on here to get another . I filled it in and I used the tenplate letter given . Still can't believe it.
Now I had CPP since 1998 (I was told this on the phone when I applied for the form) so I now wonder if I should be claiming for pre 2005 but I haven't a clue where I got the insurance from. I think it was direct from CPP not through a bank. Can anyone give me any advice on this?0
