Anyone have any idea what is going on here?
They are still selling insurance. It just won't be mis-sold this time.
  • I've had the letter hanging around since February, got the reminder so finally filled in the forms last weekend using the template statements, nothing else. I thought maybe 100.00 or so but staggered to get a cheque yesterday for 438.00!

They told me that I hadn't received a letter because I was sold their policy by an Insurance Company (now LV Insurance) that is not part of the Compensation scheme.
You complain to the Insurance Company who sold it to you.

Whether the company will consider your (pre-regulation) complaint is another matter.

  • Hi I am new so hope I am posting a question in right place?
I have received 3 separate CPP claim forms and whilst I know I was pressurized by one seller and offered loss of card protection by another and identity fraud cover by another and even key cover I don't know which one of the three applies to each. Does this matter which misspelling statement I use on each?

I doubt it will cause any problems unless the reasons you give are completely inappropriate to the specific circumstances of the different complaints. So do choose carefully.

I certainly wouldn't complain about their spelling if were you!:D
  • Thanks for that Moneyineptitude and also the great advice re misspelling :rotfl:
  • Hi
I've just called the number in the article on this website. The person I spoke to found my details and policy number and then said he couldn't help me as my policy was sold to me by the Post Office through the Bank of Ireland.
Does anyone know of a claims number for the BOI? Has anyone dealt with them?
    Thanks

I think it is worth mentioning that the letter I received explained why I was mis-sold - the reasons given were that my policy did not cover me for the stated amount and that I was covered for an amount that would have been covered by the card anyway without this additional insurance - please make sure you read your letter properly - this info is provided, I added to mine that I was told that I could not get this product if I did not take out this CPP
