  • A little while ago I had a phone call saying they had information re Halifax owing PPI. They asked if wanted paper work I said yes! They then asked if I was a Bankrupt or over 70 when I said yes to the age question the phone went dead! Why would this be?

I have no idea whether I am due PPI as I have had a number of cards switching for 0% transfers. Would it be worth me contacting Halifax? If so how do I do it as I no longer have account details.

I wonder if anyone can help, my father who is a pensioner has received a cpp reclaim letter that I am going to send off for him but he doesn't know the reason he is eligible for compensation. Any help would be great fully received.

Is there any way to query this further
You won't have purchased with CPP after 2005, so you are not in their records. You'd have to complain to whoever sold you the insurance back in the day..
  • hi All,

I see there's plenty info here but I cannot seem to find anything that would help me with my problem. So I just received slightly over £90 compensation for CPP that I bought at the time of activating my natwest credit card (10 years ago). I am certain that I had this policy for about 4 maybe 5 years and it looks like I was only compensated for the initial payment.
I no longer have the credit card statements, or the credit card account or any other account with natwest for that matter. Is there a way of finding out how much and when I paid so I can dispute the amount? Im sure I paid more have but no way to prove it. The time is running out to dispute this so I'd be very greatful for any clues. Thank you very much

If you have documentary proof from your own archive that you paid more than has been awarded, then you can "dispute" the amount. Otherwise, there is nothing you can do.

Being "sure" you paid more means nothing.

Do remember that most complainants get only a nominal sum and that the refunds are only of payments since 2005.
  • well in that case £90 is better than nothing I suppose. Thanks for your reply though.

Hi, I didnt see about this until quite late in the game! I through away my letters ages ago thinking they were spam.

Anyways, tried calling CPP a few days ago, was waiting nearly an hour so hung up to try next day. But since then the phone number has not been working!?! Says number not in use? Anyone else having same problem?
Probably futile doing it now anyway, but I want to try.

    Thanks

    As you say...
  • I'm so confused. I've had CPP since 2009 when I got my first credit card. I set it up at the time because it seemed like if I didn't and something bad happened I'd be in huge trouble. Since then they kept auto-renewing it each year until last August I realised I still had, but didn't need it, so I cancelled it.

I just spent 30 mins in a queue waiting to speak to the CPP people. They took my policy number, updated all my contact details and then he tried to issue a claim form. He then said he couldn't because they're not dealing with claims on policies sold by partner companies. He said it would either be the Bank of Ireland, or the Post Office. I did have a credit card with the Post Office at one point, but I don't understand why they'd be the one selling me CPP products.

    What do I do now?

They just buying time now they are closed to the deadline, closing down there phone line and spreading confusion. Dodgy borderline illegal strategies
