    Steady on.
The company have set aside enough money to repay everyone who might complain. They wrote to everyone who might be affected. They've also agreed the timescale for the Refund Scheme to operate with the regulator.
The telephone line was bound to be oversubscribed in the last weeks and to accuse them of "illegal strategies" simply because you've left it too late is less than charitable.

In future, I suggest you carefully read your mail rather than binning what you regard as "spam"

You look mighty high up there on your pedestal.

Oversubscribed? - They have turned their phones off!

If I owed you money and then turned my phone off so that you could not get in touch you may feel miffed too?

I guess someone like you would never get in that situation. God bless you for being so good

Do you have proof of that?

But they don't "owe" you anything and you have left it too late to complain that your insurance was mis-sold

I received my PPI back two years ago. However, despite problems doing this, I never once accused the bank of "borderline illegal strategies"

You've left it too late. You are not the first, and I doubt you'll be the last.
  • Good morning all,

    New to the forum.

Just want to thank Martin & his team for really highlighting this one. I got my initial letter towards the end of last year from CPP but didn't really take much notice of it. Got a second one a few months back & again initially just filed it in the "To do" basket on my desk.

Thanks to Martin's recent reminders in the weekly newsletters, I finally got round to using the suggestions in the templates (with slight tweeks), sent off my claim a couple of weeks back & received a cheque yesterday for £371.81. Given that I'd paid premiums of £264.98 since 2005, that's a net compensation (after tax deduction) of £106.83.

Absolutely delighted with this one! :j

Thank you Martin & team for really putting the spotlight on this matter!!! Well worth the few minutes it only takes to fill in the forms using the templates suggestions.
  • We have just received a cheque for the payment we made and interest.... Thanks MSE...
  • I took out the policy via the credit card company rather than CPP direct, am I entitled to claim still?

This week I received the refund of tax paid from HMRC and to put the cherry on the Bakewell I have just had a call from the Financial Ombudsman's office with whom I logged a complaint about non-payment from HSBC for the first 10 years of the policy. It seems they have been swamped with complaints and have now decided they WILL pay those 10 years so I would suggest anyone who has not already approached them should set the wheels in motion ASAP as the closing date for claims is the end of this month. Not only are they going to refund the premiums but also are adding 8% interest. That's what I call a result and they don't call me Rotti for nothing - dog with a bone and all that!

    Hi,

CPP are refusing to send out a Claim Form for me to claim re my ID Protection Policy so I'll miss the deadline of 30 August to claim. They suggest I claim directly from MBNA (who have 8 weeks to respond, after which the Financial Ombudsman can be contacted). I think the banks/CC companies sold the policies as agents for CPP and therefore the Scheme is liable. Their website suggests it is not necessary to deal with banks/CC companies directly. Am writing now to the Scheme Adjudicator (independent solicitor) to ask for formal extension of deadline to prevent 'backdoor' exclusion from claiming.
    Anyone in similar boat ?
  • Hello

I has a CPP card protection policy from 1999 and I cancelled it in 2013.

I called the help line. They said I needed to speak to Creation Financial Services as that is who I took it out with at the time.
I called them, they passed me on Santander as they said I had it through an Asda Credit Card. Santander can not find me on there system as I don't know my card number from 1999 and can't find me through my address or name.

Has anyone any advice as to where to go now?

    Many thanks
