My records don't go back far enough to show me who I bought it from (presumably through one of the credit cards I held then), but do show that I started it in 1987. Any idea how I can claim for the pre-2005 bit? It could be a reasonable amount.Moneyineptitude wrote: »
Noone will check - it's outsourced. It's a gravy train; jump aboard.
I'm so impressed by those who can remember, with crystal clarity, conversations with their bank 10+ years ago when I have forgotten half of what my wife told me over breakfast this morning.

Just realised my elderly father has been paying card protection insurance for years. He reckons 20 years, but in his 90`s, i take that with a pinch of salt
I have have a policy document from Sentinel (dated 2007( which was sold to him by Debenhams
Now do try to claim from Sentinel, Debenams Card Services or who ever Debenhams bank is ?0 -

Thats very helpful, thanks
I will write to Debenhams Card services and see what happens.
Father was told he couldnt have the card back in ???, without this insurance to cover his losses.
Seems to me, its a classic case of mis-selling0 -
Hi, I am new to the MSE website, but just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who has posted information about reclaiming CPP.
After reading Martin's guidance and all the positive posts on this site I completed the form and just over two weeks later received a cheque for £182 :j0 -
Hi everyone,
I have recently received a cheque of £ 130 something as compensation.
I have a question that might sound silly, but I'm no longer resident in the uk and i don't have a bank account in the country anymore.
Can I just cash it at any Barclays bank during my next trip to London?
I'm not sure if it 's a cashiers' cheque or not.
Any help would be appreciated.

The cheque has to be paid into a bank account. It is not payable as cash. I'm certain arrangements can be made to pay it into your bank account wherever you live now, although I'd expect you to pay a fee for this and for it to be converted into local currency.0

Would you believe yet another letter advising of a further delay ADDRESSED TO MY LATE HUSBAND!!!!!0

I was con(vinced) into getting ID theft protection when my daughter was going to UNI, I had phoned my CC company in order to get a card for her on my account in case of emergency. The guy who I spoke to convinced my not only to get protection for myself but also my wife and daughter - so 3 policies.
We each rec'd a claim letter which until recently we ignored. After a work collegue told of her success in claiming using MSE template I took my form into work where my collegue filled it in and I posted it - expecting nothing.
3 weeks later I rec'd a cheque for £365, I promptly filled in my wifes and today she rec'd a cheque for £327, my daughters form was sent last week so I am hoping for another cheque in a couple of weeks. Result!!!!:rotfl:0
