Hi everyone (or specifically Moneyineptitude, who seems to be the fountain of all knowledge here!),
My wife received the letter and we've been a bit slow at dealing with it but will hopefully send it off today or tomorrow. The problem is, she has no memory of ever having a card protection policy. I checked her old Mint card statements and that has PPI listed (which I will chase up separately at some point) but no card protection. I've asked her to call up CPP to see if they can say which account and the dates of the cover, but if we can't find any paperwork for it we won't really know how it was mis sold. Everyone says to send in the form anyway, but which reason should we put down in the box?
Thanks.0 -

Hi Moneyineptitude,
Thanks. I got her to call CPP and check the bank and dates of cover, which turn out to be RBS and the dates correspond with the Mint card (which is RBS), so we presume that must be what it is. Oddly, card protection doesn't show up on the statement but something called "PAYMENT PROTECTION" does. I was assuming this was PPI, which is different to the CPP card protection, right? Or in this case is that actually was it is?
Thanks for your patience.0 -
Just to say I have just phoned CPP to ask for a new form because I didn't know where I have put it and they gave me some useful information as in when I first took out the policy 1998 and when I cancelled it (because it had gone up so much ) in 2012. Now if I remember rightly I was only paying something like £13 a year for card cover and key cover only - so if I get my premiums back even since 2005 that would be very nice !! I was told that there are separate depts, one for card cover only and one for identity cover. I will use one of the tenplates as to why I want my premiums returned and see if I get anything. Apparently I took it out with MBNA which I didn't remember either!! It does show though that I am in the system!!0

I have received and completed the identity protection claim but when I phoned the scheme about card protection I was told that the policy was sold through Liverpool Victoria so I was not eligible. From my documentation I have a policy start date of 23/12/2005 and have been renewing through CPP for a number of years. I was given a phone number by the scheme team to call CPP (01904 733694) but this rang for 5 minutes without being picked up. The MSE website suggests that if you have renewed through CPP you are eligible for compensation, so am I being fobbed off? I not what should be my next steps?0

I had CPP with an EGG card - which later became a Barclaycard.
I have the policy number, when it started (2001), but cannot find payment details.
For pre-2005 re-payment do I need to contact Citi at BN99 3AS or Barclaycard in Leicester LE87 2BB?0 -
I was sent a CPP Identity Fraud Protection compensation form. I sent it off and got back £258. I also had a CPP Card Protection policy but was not sent a compensation form in connection with it. I wrote to CPP but got nowhere. I phoned CPP and have been told that policies sold after 2011 are not included in the compensation scheme. My policy was sold in April 2012.
Is it correct that policies sold after 2011 are not included?
If it is correct, why are these policies not included?0 -
I sent the form off and received a cheque for £72 two weeks later. I was paying £6 a month so I'm very happy with that. It's motivated me to get on with the PPI claim now...0
