Best of Luck!
Thanks for that, I've read the template letter for claims prior to 2005, and it says something along the lines of 'I am enclosing my account details and statements...', but I don't have those anymore. I still have the Barclays account that my Egg card became, so i'm assuming they can still track it back if they have to...0 -
My Mother and Father had forms but my dad died in September therefore we put deceased on his form which they returned saying that we can still claim. My Mother has now received a cheque in his name even though they know he has died.
My Mother has spoken to their helpline and they have requested a copy of their will.....
Does anyone think this is correct as I don't think they should be able to request this as it is a very personal document....
Would love any comments
NannyGail this happened to me too. My husband died in October and I followed their instructions to the letter sending a copy of the death certificate and letters of administration because there was no will (incidentally I think that all of this info is a matter of public record rather than private). The refund was also made out to my husband and I was advised that it was CPP's policy to issue in the deceased's name, request it be returned, and then re-issue it to the legitimate claimant! I struggle to imagine how they decided that this was an appropriate way to deal with these situations .... as if losing someone isn't bad enough without stupid, unnecessary procedures!
Cheque returned 24.04.2014, no progress since.0 -
I thought the CPP letter was a scam but checked on the money saving website and found out it was genuine. I filled in the form and got £140.00 back, thank you money saving expert. xx0

But then, what do I know?:p
So HSBC only have hundreds of customers?
As for your last comment, I couldn't possibly say! :lipsrseal0 -
So HSBC only have hundreds of customers?
The other poster asserted that this will run to "thousands" whereas I think it more likely to be hundreds .
I was not referring to every HSBC customer, as well you know already.0 -

Given the number of credit cards that must have been issued by the bank with the protection strongly advocated I am sure it must easily be thousands and you have grossly underestimated the problem.0 -

This is a useless discussion, since the actual figures are not available to the general public.0 -
We received a letter with a policy number etc. My wife rang them up to change her maiden name and to put on our new address. But they want us to send in our marriage certificate which we have. But she does not have a passport. What can we do?0

This may astound some of you. Or not...
I was mis-sold CPP when I took out a BoS MasterCard in 1995. I quickly realised it was unnecessary, and cancelled it by phone a year later. I distinctly remember the conversation with the woman on the other end of the phone.
Last year I received the CPP forms as so many did, and felt perhaps would not have been relevant for my one year in 95-96.
HOWEVER, a recent clear-out of old papers turned up not only the original 1995 letter from CPP starting my policy, but a letter of cancellation dated as late as June 2007. I would have activating it unknowingly by calling the number on the little stickers they put on new cards.
That is unbelievable length of time for an unwanted contract. I believe it would still be going on had BoS not 'sold' my CC account to MBNA.
Trouble is, the CPP forms only go back to 1995. Must I contact BoS directly with regard to claim the rest? Has anyone here succeeded in a similar situation?0 -

All I sent was a COPY of my marriage certificate.0
