Wife and I recieved our letters in March, filled them in (I had two), and today we received three cheques for £401, £273 and £310, so a pretty good result :-)
Now a question... according to the calculation breakdown on the back, they have taken tax at 20% from the amount I paid initially plus the interest of 8%..
(A-B+D-F)
Why are we paying tax on the money they took from me in the first place? I understand paying tax on the 8% interest, but why on the initial amount that they took on something they mis-sold?0 -

Sent forms back based on MSE template a month ago. Volia two cheques for me and my partner arrived today. £191 for me and £31 for him. That will certainly help us as we need to purchase a new washing machine as current one has died.
Am now considering writing to Barclays as I had CPP on two EGG Cards pre 2005 and have all statements back to 2003 when I opened the credit card accounts. Worth a try!:T0 -
Martin, thanks to you and the templates you published I am more than £800 better off.:jI can't tell you how grateful I am for your help, as I must admit to floundering a bit with filling in the compensation forms. If I ever meet you in a pub you shall never buy a drink. Cheers!:beer:0

I have just recieved a payment of about £50.
I didn't bother with the MSE letters as I had not found the MSE advice particularly helpful.
What MSE seems to miss out is that when you get a letter from CPP you should give them a call to find out as much as you can. Admitedly they don't say much but they do tell you what card you had that has caused the problem, and when you had that card - this means you have some idea of what you are dealing with and can check any paperwork you have.
Once CPP told me what card it was I just wrote back to CPP referring to the card and repeating what they had said in their letter explaining why they might be liable "the policy said ....."
Telling everyone you need to fill in a standard letter makes it seem more difficult than it really is.
I hope this is useful to others.0 -

I think lots of people have received redress simply by returning the CPP form and without contacting CPP directly or using any templates.
Just because you personally preferred to call them does not mean everyone should need to do this. The templates are provided for those who may be intimidated by making personal contact or who may be unsure what to write in their own letter.
To each his or her own.0 -

Where do you get this stuff from you post in your authoritative (though you misinform us)?
He is taking action here all the time.

Martin Lewis sold this site and stays on only in an "executive" role.
Nothing I've said is misinformation.
You have misinformed us in this post!
Martin does respond and reply to posts. (Obviously not all!)
