Trouble is, the CPP forms only go back to 2995. Must I contact BoS directly with regard to claim the rest?
Assuming you mean 1995 rather than 2995, then the answer is yes.
The CPP scheme only covers the period post 2005.
  • Thousands may have had the insurance, thousands won't be complaining to FOS that they have been rejected.
This is a useless discussion, since the actual figures are not available to the general public.

I must be one of those few that think HSBC card guard (since 1993) is value for money and have not cancelled my policy. For the sake of £180.00 lose an excellent policy for £31.00

That's your choice, of course. Many were mis-sold this kind of insurance and, if this were not the case, the CPP refund scheme would not have been instigated.

It was instigated by 18% people that voted out of the total number of people that were affected.

I wonder if anyone has this problem. I was mis-sold CPP by BoS in 1995. I cancelled it by phone in 1996, however, it was not cancelled until July 2007.

I have the letter confirming the start of the policy, and also a letter sent in July 2007 cancelling the same.

I believe that the policy would have continued had BoS not sold my CC account to MBNA.

The forms I have received from CPP only pay as far back as 2005. What do I do about the remaining years?

I was sold CPP through Sainsbury's Bank - didn't receive claim form so rang CPP - who said I needed to claim direct from Sainsbury (account long closed), so used template from here and sent letter. Just had phone call - would I be happy with £470 cheque - absolutely, cant believe how quick and easy it has been - thanks MSE
