  • As someone in the "I love food and not interested in dieting camp"... I have this week started trying the c25k programme. Never run before. Small dogs and children are overtaking me.:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Oh my. I am impressed BB.

(If no-one's looking...just stick your foot out and trip the overtakers up. :D)

I've impressed myself aj - but only done it the once so far.(You do 3 paced runs a week, starting with 60 sec jogging alternating with 90 mins fast walking for 15 mins.
Due to do the 2nd one tomorrow and given the heat forecast, may need to do it ridiculously " this is so not me getting up at 7 to go running" early in the day.
Not telling anyone other than Mr BB about doing the programme so I am free to fail/give up/wimp out without embarrassment.

I'm not going on a diet, they don't work. As soon as you mention cutting down or out, I feel starving. I clearly have psychological issues. :D

However, I am going to move my @ss more and hopefully make wiser food choices.

Today was a 3 mile walk with OH and mutt as a start.

Once I lose weight, I shall wear bright orange, cerise pink, lime green and perky purple. All at once! :D

Bring on the next wedding I say. :rotfl:

Oh how great this post is, upbeat and fun, I wish you all the best and hope you loose lots:D:D

That was probably my desperate need to show off somewhere, the utterly astonishing fact that I actually went r.u.n.n.i.n.g.:D

Is there an emotional eating thread somewhere???

Not a "I went to the gym for and hour and ate a whole tomato and a carrot" kind of thread but more of a "I have had the shi*est day and unless I get it off my chest this pack of jaffa cakes gets it" sort of thing.

I think this is where slimming clubs fail as they only address diet not the crux of the matter which is to me, that food is both my best friend and worst enemy!

but my god some of the dresses people wear to weddings are hideous.

Kate Middleton, Jessica Alba and Vicky Beckham in black, twice.

didn't see Kate Middleton in black, but I gave up before the end - there are some seriously nasty frocks in that lot!

I started one 3 years ago but it fell by the wayside I think. Probably everyone had decided whacking the jaffa cakes was more fulfilling at that point. :D

Edit: I remember now, it got moved and once that happened, we got the unhelpful comments from some of the site trolls and it lost it's 'tone' after that.

I remember that, I think most of the original posters on it were livid that it had been moved.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
