yes she is maybe trying to do that but also acting selfishly.
If she loved me, she would stop causing me so much stress, honestly I feel like im going to just dieThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'm her son, she brought me into the world. What kind of people say "when youre 18, thats when you move out". Do you not have a heart, family values, family love...If I have children, they would have a home FOR LIFE if they needed it
If you were sharing the house and the bills and the housework, no-one would be suggesting that you should move out. It's a parent's job to help their children to grow up and become independent - not to treat them as children all their lives.
You are behaving as if the universe revolves around you and are demanding that your mother - in her house - changes her life to suit your whims. I doubt you would allow any child of yours to dictate how you lived.0 -

Mine have a home for life whenever they need it, but I hope they won't often need it. I hope they'll have a happy life of their own living with a partner or friends, or even alone and happy.52% tight0 -

If my child had a mental health problem that could be helped (eg them not having panic attack, not having to lock themself in their room for hours, thinking about suicide) by me changing some of my personal hygiene products, then I would do it because I love them. I would even do it for a stranger. Its not a big change.
I'm not dictating, i'm trying to get her to show some care about my mental health problem.

Early20s - how do you cope with laundry? What about the scents of the washing powder/liquid/fabric softeners? Do they not bother you?
Or do you not wash your clothes/bedlinen?
You are no longer a child - you are an adult and its time you started to behave like one.0 -

I wash all my own clothes, towels, using a homemade natural mixture
Wouldn't use the towels she washes if you paid me because they stink of chemicals that stick to your body, so disgustingThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

No, I'm not but you're forgetting all the posts that have tried to tell you that giving in to your phobia will not help you - you need to sort out the problem!0 -
