Maybe the OP has a genuine medical condition and is sensitive to the smell. Maybe this is not psychiatric.
and funny how the op chooses to deliberately ignire those posts who are asking questions so that we may offer practical solutions.....whilst thanking those who agree with his/her pov2014 Target;

This reminds me if DS's ex mother in law! She was a princess who would not allow anyone wearing perfume or perfumed creams etc into her house because of her allergies.
Did she not realise that every woman at the wedding was drenched in their favourite perfume?
As for the OP, surely various creams and cleaning products have very different smell anyway.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

it started with deodorant and has grown into other things. Only started 2 years ago.
I don't think I have aspergers although not really sure what it is
OP, what have you done today to get yourself over this phobia?
I'm afraid you are the only one who can make yourself better, so maybe you could start desensitising yourself to the things that make you panicky, and you must work on it everyday.
You CAN do it, l was an agoraphobic once, now l go all over and fly too without a seconds thought. It takes time but you can't stay like this forever and your mum can't be expected to change her habits for you, otherwise you'll never get over it.

To be honest, I really don't think she loves me anymore. It feels so depressing and I don't have anyone else really. If I had a child, I would make 3 or 4 simple sacrifices to ensure they could cope.
"SHE could do this, SHE could change, SHE doesn't love me"
I am not unsympathetic, but please, 3 or 4 simple sacrifices? It doesn't sound like you love her, let alone the other way round.
You don't mention a father, so I assume he is not around anymore. Have you thought about it from your mums point of view? Appearingly alone with her daughter in her mid twenties, who she is probably worried to death about, who she does try to make changes for but who gets shouted at for not doing enough and not understanding.
Do you try to understand her, or are you the only one with issues?
Do you do anything for her, or do you just get mad that she didn't clean the kitchen in the way that you want it?
I am particularly sensitive to smells, and I can't stand perfume or any unnatural smell. They give me horrible headaches, and make me feel sick, so I can understand how intrusive they are. However, if I was living in my mums house I would not dare utter a word against her. Even when I had friends staying at the weekend and the girl sprayed huge amounts of perfume, I opened the window and got on with it.
Yes, I do not have the issues you do, but you cannot control other people, and worrying about it won't make anything better.
What you can do is look at your own behaviour and perhaps try to be a little more considerate to this woman who created you, carried you, gave birth to you and has cared for you for the last twenty odd years.0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
