I never knew. He doesn't appear in a search of the members list, so I imagine he was pushed.

I went for an interview once and after mentioning that I had taken part in the London Moonwalk, the interviewer then proceeded to tell her views - which were exactly like the OP's.

Decided there and then that I would take the job as I didn't want every aspect of my life used as 'you'd better give that up as you'll end up getting cancer' stick to beat me with

Can anyone tell me why my post stating that this thread was turning nasty and was going to ask for the thread to be deleted/locked has itself been deleted but the thread remains open?

I've noticed threads turn 'nasty', and yes if all the responses were nasty it should be locked - but I;ve seen much worse ones - haven't seen all comments on this one as some posts have been removed, however, IMO it contains some good info so would be a shame to delete it

I for one have a phobia (vomiting), and yes it does control my life to an extent, but there's been thought provoking, and potentially helpful, info on here for me ;)

although i have been in contact with several mental health charities. Two have already gotten back to me and said they are concerned about the content/lack of moderation on this thread towards somebody with suicidal ideation.

So you're upset enough to contact two charities but not upset enough to stop reading and adding to the thread?

Somehow I seriously doubt people from mental health charities have been reading this thread.

what do you mean? why would I be upset at the thread? I'm angry at the way people responded to the op after reading this thread. why is everyone so hostile towards me?

you are sounding slightly paranoid :) maybe now you live alone, it means you have more time to ruminate on things such as this, are are perhaps seeing an issue where there is none.

    Oh, the irony!
