I believe we should not bow down to corporate powers, yes, if that's what you mean?
They offer convenience but they do not own customers and we should not allow them to think they do.
Tesco and the like have a lot of power over us already. We, the consumers, need to keep a lid on it. Just because they have managed to make themselves indespensible in many areas, does not mean we should give up all our rights to them.0 -

Who would ever imagine that someone who's in would not want their delivery?
We don't know it was clear someone was home! Plus, what if the person at home was incapacitated or something? He just couldn't have known for sure.0 -

she didn't call him a troll I did, and what's insulting about calling someone a winker0 -

Tescos only got as big as they are by doing exactly what consumers want...
I can't imagine *any* area where Tesco are indespensible as the world is full of shops and we can take our custom whereever we choose.The money, Dave...0 -
Jeez;
Have been watching this ‘debate’ escalate and honestly can’t believe how worked up and personal people are getting.
I agree with the OP - Yes you booked a certain time slot and yes the driver turned up early. I’d be pretty annoyed. And would def grumble at him.
BUT surely not opening the door is cutting your nose off to spite your face. What purpose did it achieve honestly? Unless it was just more fodder to complain to Tesco about…
I understand the ‘tied up with baby thing’ but surely it would have been possible to stop for two minutes to let the driver in. I had a late delivery and consequently was doing something else but all I did was open the door and the driver bought all the stuff in. He then had to wait a couple of minutes for me to finish up to give him a signature.
I also honestly can’t believe that the driver would have left the stuff unattended by the door – he needs a signature surely. Also he’d have known you’d complain. It’s more likely he was unloading it ready to bring in. I’m normally slow getting to the door and the driver has always unloaded part of the stuff before I get down and he knows I'm in. He does it to make the delivery quicker.
I personally wouldn’t complain; but then I’m pretty flexible (and too lazy in all honesty); but if it has inconvenienced you that much definitely complain. But you say you have complained; and nowt has been done. So in that case just go elsewhere.
I really can’t understand why everyone is taking sides on this??? It was bl00dy annoying but that’s life.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
