I have to wonder what sort of sites these people have signed upto in the past to receive hardcore pornography ;)
  • Funnily enough, last night's Panorama showed how easy it is for rogue companies to obtain people's personal information. The example they gave was in the context of dating websites buying personal details through (illegal) databases sold by people who gather this information without consent and pass it on, but only goes to follow that other rogue "services" use them too.
  • I got them as well. Bit of a shock! Luckily wife thought it was quite funny but I can imagine they started a few arguments around the country yesterday.

I hope MIL does not get these, she'll have a touch of the vapours.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • I received the same two disks yesterday. Same as everyone else with my full name, address and postcode. I live near Brighton.
I have reported this to the fraud investigations helpline who told me they started to receive similar calls yesterday - hundreds of them!
They were very supportive and encourage anyone who has received these DVDs to report it. The helpline number is 0300 123 2040 (8am-9pm weekdays)

At the moment it looks like this is a mailing list that has been sold on rather than online hacking of personal details but I've be told to keep an eye on my bank account.

I hope this is useful info for anyone who has received this unsolicited filth.
  • Weird. The mail shot must have cost someone a fortune and as far as I can see there is little chance of them getting any return on the investment. Is anyone here a member of a political party? I am. I wondered if someone had got hold of a mailing list/s and was trying to make some sort of political point...
