Now back to Nilrem, who we'd like to say thank you to for highlighting this problem
.

This is an odd and mildly embarrassing question (or would be if it wasn't unexpected and funny).

Has anyone else received some unsolicited pornographic DVD's through the post with no information on where they came from other than the
"If undelivered please return to: NL0002, Greenford, UB18, 7NL" address.

No information on the sender other than the returns address on the package.

Although the disks themselves are R18 (only for sale from a sex shop), and have a phone number (0844 0961055) on them to "unsubscribe" (yes, I'm really likely to call an 0844 number for a company who have sent me disks I didn't ask for and don't have a clue who the company is...).

My guess is it's some scam, and they'll try and bill me for the disks.

I'm sorely tempted to report them to someone, but not sure who, as:
A: The discs were unsolicited (I've never bought !!!!!! DVD's ever)
B: They are R18 which I suspect means that they are not meant to be sent out unsolicited...

Yup, by initials and surname, and given the surname is an unusual one it seems very unlikely it's an accident with the address.

I Have just had the same come through the post- with my full name (including middle) Which is strange is a never use it. Did a google search on address and it is an international trading estate.

Did you get any further post?

Hi - the same happened to me - I got a couple of DVDs in this morning's post under identical circumstances to the original poster.

I'm not going to put them anywhere near my PC, and I certainly won't be phoning that number to "unsubscribe".

It has got scam written all over it -and whilst I'm curious to know what the scam is my biggest fear is that there's a virus on the disks, and that you've effectively linked your identity and address to your PC.

Stay well clear - and destroy those disks!!

Hi Nilrem, I found this page via Google for nl0002 greenford ub18 7nl

I have been received the same unsolicited post today as well.

It is a scam (not sure yet how they plan to make money from it).

It was strange that "no information on the sender other than the returns address on the package."

On forums elsewhere I've disovered it is a Dutch company operating out of a Greenford London postcode UB18 7NL sending various scams (the DVDs is a new one) to people in the post.

Nilrem, in the past few months did you buy anything from an TV shopping channel for the first time, such as Bid.tv ? THERE MAY BE NO CONNECTION, but out of companies that I've interacted with for the first time in recent months who might have sold on my details and never provided me with an "opt out" option (as they take the order on the phone), Bid.tv (aka BID UP TV online shopping for household good) jumps to top of my list.

    Received the same today.
2 dvd's in one envelope. No information apart from a return address.
Writing on the DVD mentions a company called QuietLyn BV, Amsterdam.

As mentioned other writing on the disk gives a telephone number to unsubscribe from this disc.

Good luck to them if they think they are going to get money from me as I haven't got any. Bit worrying though as to how they will try to make money from this. Maybe they think some people will sign up?

Just got the same normal envelop with !!!!!! Dvd's inside. Only just googled up the address and found this forum about it. Guess this is a scam but what I am more concerned is how they got my address and full name! Please keep updates, are you thinking of returning them back? or waiting for a reply.
