An odd one, possible scam from postcode ub18 7nl

Same here... Same 2 unsolicited dodgy DVDs received today, loose in a plain white envelope, with just the "if undelivered" address noted above, and the "unsubscribe" phone number printed on the actual discs.

Would be very interesting to know how this happened, as I'm not in the habit of spending money on smut or frequenting that kind of website.

We should probably compare notes and try to identify the likely culprit...

I have shopped with various third-party sellers on the Amazon marketplace, albeit never for this kind of thing - just normal movies, CDs, and games.

Various eBay sellers will have had my address - not many, though, and never for that kind of thing.

My details did get hacked (along with many other people's) in the PlayStation Network hack a while ago. There were 2 fraud attempts on my credit card following that hack.

I was a paid member for a month, years ago, of one of the "Friend Finder" ring of dating websites. Think they had my street address for billing purposes. That's the only remotely "adult" type site that has ever had my details.

If we don't have any of those in common, then we'll need to cast the net wider I guess...

so glad i'm not the only one got these today. SOOOOOO not impressed by this. what the hell are they playing at? do they make money from the phone calls or something or is there a virus on the discs???

I'm another rather surprised recipient, again Initials and full surname, though no indication of gender. As I'm a Mrs I would have preferred something cleaner and more useful, like washing powder or dish washer samples....:-P

I wonder if Royal Mail are aware of what they are delivering? I would have thought the images on the "College Virgins" disk are bordering on obscene.

The way to stop them making any money would be to post the pin code as its bound to be same for each disc.

My gf recieved these two dvd's in the post too; needless to say we're not amused. Also called the 0844 number and listen to the recorded message, it basically asks that if you would like to unsubscribe leave your details (which I didn't).. The call lasted 10 secs and cost 4p.

Thank goodness this thread was on here, I got the 2 DVD'#s today-ironic as im gay and naked women really are not my thing-thought it was friends messing around but was unnerved by the unsubscribe number-was just about to call and thought it would be set up to charge me £60 a minute or something similar! I will just chuck away and keep an eye on my bank account transactions...
