Same here (Edinburgh area). Just glad my 10 & 7 year old daughters are away at the moment!

Phoned Royal Mail to complain since they delivered the DVD's in a pre paid postage envelope and they were as useful as a chocolate tea pot!
  • I too received this letter in the post; first initial, surname & address

Currently in the process of completing an online form to report this to trading standards. I will update as/when i hear anything back

Same discs arrived here (Cynon Valley in South Wales) and they used my full name. I suspect the scam is in the need to telephone up to either "unsubscribe" or to access the content. Must have cost them a bit of money though to print and send all those discs?

Spoken to Royal Mail, they are now more helpful as they've had a number of complaints and have got an "incident" number!

They didn't give you the reference did they? I could put it into my email to trading standards

    Thanks

I'm just amazed at all the newbies who have had these and how few regulars have, I wonder what has been going on?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • I think the number of newbies is understandable, I guess people got the DVDs were suspicious and googled it like I did, that would lead them here and they then probably registered so that they could post about it.

I think it is probably due to this being the first site you see when you google the address and dvd.

People are getting the dvds, googling, then registering to share the fact.

I've been one here years, and I got them.

EDIT- and I only got to this thread via google

I too was shocked to received the two discs today, to my parents house no less! They used a name and address I don't normally use, so looked at my recent online purchases and found one of interest.

    Has anyone recently ordered anything online from the following;

eBay sellers; plusbee, safekom, sarah-it, ethshop

    Websites; plusbee.com or safekom.com or etradehouse.com

    Amazon seller; Wholeseller

They are all one and the same person based in Greenford. They sell cables and things such as HDMI cables, RF cables.

Check your email confirmations to see. If you pay by PayPal they will use your PayPal address, not necessarily the one registered with eBay or an online store.
