Husband received these this afternoon and had to peel me off the ceiling before searching on the return address and showing me that google had directed him to MSE.com (like other recipients, he also thought it was a prank).

Thanks to "NigelBrooks" (posts 59 and 60) - hopefully the Met Police will look at this forum to see how widespread this is (we're on the south coast in Hampshire). I would like to see two things happen: the culprit identified, caught and prosecuted for breaching the OPA 1959, and Royal Mail ordered to cease their delivery contract with this organisation - they simply can't deny their part in perputating this offensive exercise now that they're aware of it.

By the way, if the number above my husband's name on the envelope is his unique identifier on their mailing list then these pond-life have only sent out a few hundred of these today, but has anyone got a 4-digit, or even higher, number? (Would give us an idea of the scale of their disgusting operation.)

The number on mine is 142 and I'm in Derbyshire.

    Another 142 here :( - South Yorks
    ...the north will rise again...
  • My husband's number is higher than that, but still in the hundreds so here's hoping this disgusting little scam/protest (whatever it is) can only count hundreds, rather than thousands, amongst its victims.
  • That's a pity - looks like the number isn't unique then. :(

Social worker friend of mine advised today that they were warned about a mass protest going on today by a hacktivist group called "anonymous" against new Government legislation re online !!!!!!. Perhaps related?

I doubt it's anything to do with them, Anonymous tend to be limited to online stuff and sometimes protesting in person wearing V for Vendetta style masks :)

The disks also look to be professionally made, which would require them to have bought them (they are silver pointing to actually pressed in a factory, as opposed to gold/green/blue which are the normal colours for home made ones).

AngelicKaty View Post, Hoppo1979, the number on the front of mine above the address (didn't notice that until you posted), is in the low triple figures.

I too was shocked to received the two discs today, to my parents house no less! They used a name and address I don't normally use, so looked at my recent online purchases and found one of interest.

    Has anyone recently ordered anything online from the following;

eBay sellers; plusbee, safekom, sarah-it, ethshop

    Websites; plusbee.com or safekom.com or etradehouse.com

    Amazon seller; Wholeseller

They are all one and the same person based in Greenford. They sell cables and things such as HDMI cables, RF cables.

Check your email confirmations to see. If you pay by PayPal they will use your PayPal address, not necessarily the one registered with eBay or an online store.

Greenford also has a UB postcode. Coincidence?

I'm in north Derbyshire so 5 minutes I'm in south yorks. I wonder if that's an area marker? This is bizarre!

Same as most people on here, I received a pair of DVDs today and google guided me to this forum. Am un-nerved, but hopefully zero action is enough to protect my cash! My envelope number is 165.

Another newbie here. We got them too addressed to my other half who very rarely shops on line, but does have an Xbox live account and PSN account. We're in Essex and ours was numbered 169.
  • I'm in Devon so by the sounds of it they are not area dependant.
