Your flight needs to get to your destination more the 180 minutes late and not subject of extraordinary circumstances. Download and read Vaubans guide all explained there. Post your flight details0 -
In 2014 my family (4) inbound easyjet flight from Malaga was cancelled on the day of travel, we rebooked a later flight which was delayed by 4 hours +, we understand the rules, bad weather rules out compensation for delays and that any claim has to be made to the Spanish Authorities, we did this on the basis that easyjet knew our flight was going to be or possibly would be delayed at the time of booking and with held this information, the Spanish Authorities suggested we should be paid Euro400 each but easyJet refuse to pay, any suggestions?0

download and read vaubans guide all explained you can sue them in a uk court as long as it wasn't an extraordinary circumstance. Why was your flight cancelled? Post your flight details0

Hi there,
Apologies if this has already been covered but a search didn't turn anything up.
I won 2 free tickets in a BA competition to fly return to Barbados. I paid for a third ticket for my son. We were then delayed by well over 8hrs travelling out. BA have given compensation for my son's ticket, but I was wondering if the 2 "won" tickets are eligible for any compensation? BA have said no as I didn't "pay" for them but would like to hear view of people more knowledgeable than me in this area if possible please?
Many thanksIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

No, you cannot claim. The regs state quite clearly that the seats must be paid for (even if through a loyalty/points programme) AND be available to the general public. Yours wasn't since you won it in a competition ie I couldnt get the same seat/flight with the same T&Cs - free.
Lovely, thanks for the reply. I thought as much but just needed it confirmed by someone else with subject knowledge.

Hi guys,
I posted here a few weeks ago about claiming compensation from Vueling for a cancelled outbound flight and delayed inbound flight when visiting Barcelona for the weekend this June.
I emailed a Notice Before Action and found the chairman's email online. This seemed to make Vueling change their mind and they replied to both claims saying they will pay me the compensation. This felt like a victory of sorts but my next issue is receiving the compensation.
I replied to their emails the same day, supplying the requesting bank information so they could make bank transfer. This was on 06/07/2016. In my Notice Before Action email (sent 30/06/16), I gave them 14 days to settle my claim.
I called and spoke to customer services when these 14 days had elapsed to try and get an update on the status of my claim and when I could expect compensation. They just told me they are dealing with a high number of cases at the moment and to give them two weeks and if nothing had been resolved to get back in touch.
2 weeks later I have called again and there is still no update that they could give me. When I asked if I could speak to a manager they said that it was not possible as it was a different department (from Customer Services), and that they only deal with online claims.
I'm unsure with what I should do now, I'm worried that if I just wait they will not pay the compensation. On the other hand, if I escalate or use a NWNF company, it means I will lose out financially which would be frustrating when they have already said they will pay compensation!
Any advise on what I should do would be appreciated!
For example, are there any rules on how long they have until they have to pay the compensation back to customers?
Thanks!0 -
As the flight was less than two months ago you are under no pressure. You already have written confirmation that they accept that you have a claim and that they will pay. So why waste your money instructing a NWNF company, be it solicitors or claims management company/
You have two sensible options.
1. issue Court proceedings yourself now.
2. (My recommendation)Write to them or send them an e-mail (not a phone call) saying that unless you get your compensation within a further 14 days you will be forced to sue them.
If you go for option 2 and you still haven't been paid then all you've lost is 14 days but you will also be able to prove to the Court (if necessary) that you gave them every opportunity to pay up and Court proceedings were only used as a last resort.0 -
Hi guys... I cannot find the answer to this question: Can an airline demand to present them with a boarding pass as evidence of my family actually taking the flight? We had London Heathrow to Valparaiso (USA) via Charlotte (USA) flight in September 2014 and despite me obsessively keeping all the paperwork I can only locate the boarding passes for the second leg of the journey (CLT-VPS) not the first leg (LHR-CLT) where the compensation is due for just under 6hrs delay.0
