Hi all, hope someone can help
I recently was delayed on a Britsh Airways flight from St Kitts to LGW, I was delayed well over 24 hours which resulted in numerous other expenses such as loss of earnings, having to arrange being picked up + numerous expensive phone calls. BA have told me I can claim under the EU delayed flights scheme, but my claim would be more than the 600 euro/£500 limit(I have an itemised bill showing calls were £216 before loss of earnings etc, I'm willing to forego transport & eating expenses as I don't have receipts for these) could anybody please tell me how to go about this claim
Thanks in advance
all the best
Larry

Consequential losses such as phone call, transport may be covered by your insurance. Delay compensation from BA is limited to 600€ which is the maximum available. If you had any other duty of care costs (meals/soft drinks) the reasonable cost of same should be met by BA upon them receiving receipts indicating payment. Read Vauban's Guide if necessary if BA don't cough up, future posts should be on BA thread.0

airlines do not cover loss of earnings, you would need to check your travel insurance policy to see whether it covers this0 -
@111KAB thanks for your help, i'm afraid my travel insurance has told me they'll pay for the dalay but not the inconsequentials, BA customer relations have said they do meet other expenses
thanks once again

Any delay claim from your insurers is a separate issue to a delay claim from BA ie two payouts acceptable.0

Hi there,
Apologies if this has already been covered but a search didn't turn anything up.
I won 2 free tickets in a BA competition to fly return to Barbados. I paid for a third ticket for my son. We were then delayed by well over 8hrs travelling out. BA have given compensation for my son's ticket, but I was wondering if the 2 "won" tickets are eligible for any compensation? BA have said no as I didn't "pay" for them but would like to hear view of people more knowledgeable than me in this area if possible please?
Many thanks0
