Hi
Can anyone help? Any advice please.
BA flight from Bangkok to London delayed by 2hours 30mins which meant we missed the last connection of the day to Manchester. BA put us up overnight and we travelled on first plane the next day.
Missed day at work as a result.
Captain on the Bangkok flight said delay was due to technical problems in London before take off.
Compensation claim rejected by BA as they say it was due to a health & safety reason being they found a mouse onboard and swapped planes.
Is this acceptable as a health & safety reason? Is this still not BA's fault?
Thanks0 -
Good day
It's not a delay but I'm sure the community will have an expert view. We are booked, as part of a package, to fly to Barcelona in September. The original booking was with Airline 1, which was moved to Airline 2 under a codeshare. Our reservations still show on Airline 2. However, in the small print we now flying with Airline 3 (pay attention at the back there!) on whose website we also appear.
Now these airlines have different T&Cs e.g. luggage, and I ask which of these pertain to us?0 -

Is this a true package with a single price or a flight+ accommodation deal?
If a true package then the travel agent should have supplied the baggage details, if flight+ then this is likely to be the operating airline rules unless your booking confirmation says otherwise
I am confused with the "moved to airline 2 under a codeshare" do you mean the flight time has changed to a different time or that you booked with one airline and it is operated by another as a codeshare
e.g. you can book a flight to BCN on the BA website with a BA flight number but it is operated by Vueling.
Probably better posting on the general flights board as this is not related to flight delays0 -
Hi. Has anyone made progress with a claim for compensation for a flight delay 6 years ago on Thomas Cook Manchester to Dalaman.Flight Tcx288. Over 7 hours delayed. Please can you advise how you got on? Thanks.0

We had a 5 hour delay on a Ryanair flight within the EU. I used Ryanair's website to submit a claim and received a reference number straightaway. Next day they asked me to submit receipts etc when I had made a claim under the EU reg which provides for a fixed compensation. I used Resolver straightaway and the following day received a reply from Ryanair that they were paying 250 euros for each of the two of us in accordance with the EU reg. All in all it took 3 days from submission of the original claim to settlement by the airline. Fair-dos to Ryanair and thanks to Resolver - which I'm sure showed the airline we were informed, entitled and serious.0

1. It's a package and the Travel Agent staff had no clue at all. 2. I knew about the move from BA to Iberia in advance so that's fine. The helpful lady at Iberia told me the flight is under their T&Cs rather than those of Vueling, who are actually operating the aircraft. The difference is in their baggage policies. 3. I know, I know but I thought I would get a quick and useful answer here!0 -
I've posted in another thread about the details, but recently I SUCCESSFULLY RECEIVED SETTLEMENT from Small Planet Airlines after a 3 year battle. Lots of smoke and mirrors, red tape and bureaucracy but it was worth it in the end!
They tried to delay it for as long as possible to push me away, but it ended with a High Court judgment (EU) and bailiffs attending Birmingham International to receive settlement! I believe there were about a dozen in this class action in the end.0
