Lufthansa acquired BMI in April 2012 (previously they were both part of Star Alliance and Lufthansa owned a %, having bought a share from SAS in 1999)
BMI cancelled the flight causing the delay so have a look at the BA thread where you will find that BMI claims were dealt with by BA0 -
Another interesting article (from a Scandinavian aviation lawyer) about the van der Lans case.
The most interesting bit (to me) is the following:... the van der Lans maneouvre made me suspicious. I therefore contacted Travelrights colleagues in Holland, EuClaim. They assist delayed flight passengers in UK and the Netherlands. And Lo and Behold! The van der Lans case was a decision by a single lower Court judge at the Dutch Court Rechtsbank Amsterdam. Not even the judges in the Rechtsbank Amsterdam stayed any cases due to van der Lans. No other Courts in Holland did either, since no one believes that van der Lans will have any effect upon the consequences of the Jet2.com vs Huzar. …0 -

Another interesting article Vauban.
To me it suggests two things.
1) The high regard in which other European Countries hold our own legal system.
2) That Jet2s desperate attempts will result in another huge payday for their solicitors, but no progress in escaping their responsibilities to pay compensation.
I'm really looking forwards to 25th February:)Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

I agree strongly with both these points.
Lawyers rarely starve, in my experience. But - and I say this, like you, as someone from the other side of the Pennines: I thought Yorkshiremen were more careful with their money?0 -
We call a spade a spade but alas some behave as though they were hit over the head with it at birth, repeatedly. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

We bloody well are....!
Most of us aren't from the same mould or DNA as Jet2!Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.
Current known score:-
Dr Watson 35 - 0 Ryanair / Ince and Co
Go to post 622 on the Ryanair thread to read how to sue them safely.0 -
Hi all
Can anyone advise if when you are offered compensation for a 24hr delay can airline offer a voucher for next holiday or can I refuse voucher and ask for cash refund as I have already booked holiday for 2015?
Thankyou0 -
