I doubt you will get far with this as the indications are that the delay was due to weather. Other flights departing around the same time had a similar if not longer delay or were cancelled (it looks like it was around that time everything started to go wrong and if it was sudden then there may then have been a sudden queue for deicing)
Different aircraft have different tolerances. The Flybe and Air France planes are very different
  • Thanks - no idea what the initial cause of delay to board was - and Manchester didn't have snow until after she was due to take off. The flight I mentioned was the next Flybe to Paris on same route scheduled a couple of hours after hers, that was what was so frustrating at the time! If she had only been delayed 38 mins she would've still made her connection - just! Originally there was over 2 hours between flights but Air France changed it leaving her 80 mins transfer time - therefore not giving much time for delays....

  • Hi
Our flight to Chambery was delayed and eventually we ended up landing at Lyon (due at Chambery around 4pm on 21/12 ended up at Lyon at approx 10pm) I have looked on flight stats but it does not seem to have the date for our flight on that day - do I need exact timings and if so how do i get them
    Thanks

As it was Titan (presume a charter flight for one of the mainstream operators) unlikely to be listed on Flightstats therefore you may just have to pursue your claim in the knowledge the delay was over 3 hours HOWEVER I suspect the delay/re-routing was caused by weather problems in which case you will not be able to claim anyway.
  • no it wasnt caused by weather - it was a navigational issue, we were diverted to stansted, they tried to fix the problem which seemed to consist of rebooting the plane then they transfered us to a different plane which then had to go to Lyon rather than Chambery as it was too big to land at Chambery. We were meant to land at Chamery at 4pm we got to Lyon at 10pm and then had a 2 hour transfer to our hotel

Well it sure sounds like you have a claim then! Read my guide on what to do next.

Only certain aircraft (according to Jet2....) thrust rating and noise levels and trained crews can land at Chambery due to the terrain. However irrespective of this, your problem sounds like a techie. Was the plane an older 737? These seem to be having autopliot issues - the "VHF" panel.

Now understood as it appears Titan were called in and used one of their A320's (probably G-POWI) which does require a slightly longer runway that the Ryanair Boeing for take off/landing. Problem will be that your claim is against Titan who will no doubt expect Ryanair to reimburse them as they were just 'filling in'.
As Vauban mentions ... his guide is the way to proceed however this isn't going to be an easy one so tenacity and patience with this link being your starting point >http://www.titan-airways.com/home.html - you may well find out the eventual time delay etc by using flightradar (or a similar site) as once you know date and flight number/plane registration you should be able to history track your actual flight.
