  • Hello and thanks for the link.
I am going 'on the journey' of claiming on behalf of my sister-in-law and her husband who have just returned from a 12 hour delay on Tuesday between Alicante and Newcastle. So will definitely be 'sticking' around. Thanks again. I will put it in my favourites.

It depends on the terms on which they were set up. Decisions of Financial ombudsman and legal ombudsman for two can be enforced.

The issue with the CAA is not with powers but the fact that they exist to promote the interests of the airline industry, which they prioritise over the rights of passengers.

For anyone who doubts this (not many, I bet) I refer you to the submission that the CAA made to the Supreme Court, supporting Jet2.com. If folk are interested I'll try to post it up.

(I asked for this under FOI, but the CAA refused. I now have this from another source. And I will be appealing the CAA's risible response to my FOI request, as I suspect that there is a lot more interesting material out there ...).

Jet2.com? two face brown noses, caught with their pants down here.

Written evidence to the Transport Committee of flight times etc. It's not what it's about that matters but what the last sentence says! LOL:rotfl:

"It is important that if new Rules and Regulations are approved and implemented, this process must be applied consistently and concurrently across all member States."

What about reg 261/2004 then Jet2.com?

Here it is: I think the CAA's priority is quite clear.

Jeez, I have no legal training but even I could rip through most, if not all of the "points" raised by the CAA.
Talk about misinformation, one sided, distorting the facts to suit.... Shall I go on?
My profession is currently in the throws of enforcing substantial change within its regulatory body, which is not fit for purpose. The profession have just had a judicial review confirming the regulatory body acted illegally yet it is proving difficult to shift the entrenched persons responsible. What hope do we have with the CAA and airlines?

    The alleged Ringleader.........
  • Anybody who likes fairy tales should google 'CAA Strategic Plan 2011-2016' which contains such gems as:

    'The CAA places the UK public at the heart of everything we do';

'We are committed to regulating in a way that is transparent'.

Did they find this in a Xmas cracker?
  • Received yet another 'holding' letter from Monarch who just seem to be stalling!
  • AND what about this self-congratulatory one:

'The CAA has a track record to be proud of'..............

whoops, hold on I think I'm going to be sick.
